Position Overview 
The Director of Development (DD) will partner with the President to design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that meets annual revenue goals. This position oversees all aspects of donor cultivation, membership growth, and corporate sponsorships, and supports signature fundraising events such as the annual Gala and Italian Festival/Exotic Car Show.
As the primary liaison for member engagement, the DD must be personable, outgoing, and relationship-driven—creating meaningful connections, enhancing stewardship, and fostering a strong sense of belonging among members and donors. Some evening and event-related work required.
Key Responsibilities 
• Develop and manage annual and multi-year fundraising plans.

Purpose of the Opportunity The Manager of Individual Gifts is responsible for identifying,cultivating, qualifying, and soliciting mid-level ($1,000-$4,999)donors to raise significant revenue for Win. Opportunity
Reporting to IRAP’s Executive Vice President, External Relationsand Chief of Staff, the Vice President (VP), Development will be anintegral member of the IRAP team, and involved in theorganization’s overall strategic development. They will oversee andmanage the organization’s fundraising strategy, development, andexecution, and will build key infrastructure and contacts tostrengthen and sustain its activities. In partnership with theExecutive Vice President, External Relations and Chief of Staff,the Development team, and other key stakeholders, the VP will be astrategic leader and frontline fundraiser, forging newrelationships to increase IRAP’s visibility, achieve ambitiousimpact, and secure long-term financial resources. They will lead,in partnership, the design and implementation of a comprehensive,clearly-articulated multi-year plan to maintain organizationalhealth in the years to come. The VP, Development will have primary responsibility forestablishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to grow a$30M annual budget through the solicitation of grassroots tomajor/principal gifts, special events and virtual opportunities,and corporate and foundation support. Responsibilities

<li>Provide strategic vision and direction to build a first-ratedevelopment program, in partnership with the Executive LeadershipTeam, Development team, and Board of Directors, includingindividual, corporate, and foundation fundraising, and support andensure stellar development operations.</li>

ABOUT THE POSITION As we embark on thistransformative journey, Symphony Space is actively seeking to buildcapacity and hire a Director of Advancement. A newly created role,the Director of Advancement will play a crucial part inspearheading our campaign efforts, building robust relationshipswith key stakeholders, and ensuring the successful realization ofour goals. As such, we seek a creative, dynamic, and highlymotivated Director of Advancement to develop and lead all aspectsof our $45 million fundraising campaign. With a seasonedprofessional leading our advancement initiatives, we will harnessour current momentum to secure vital resources, expand our reach,and solidify Symphony Space's legacy for future generations.
In partnership with the Executive Director and Board ofDirectors, the Director of Advancement will be a key member ofSymphony Space’s senior leadership team. The primary focus of theDirector of Advancement will initially be the capital campaign,working closely with our team of external fundraising consultants,senior leadership, and Board. Concurrently, the Director ofAdvancement will collaborate with the development department todesign a strategic vision for a multi-channel fundraising programthat identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual andinstitutional donors, and strengthens our annual fundraisingprogram.&nbsp;

QUALIFICATIONS
 A successful Director of Advancementwill have:
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, withdemonstrated job advancement</li>
<li>A deep understanding of and connections to the arts and culturephilanthropic community in New York City and nationally</li>
<li>Experience fundraising for a major capital campaign</li>
<li>A proven track record of setting, achieving, and exceedingfundraising goals</li>
<li>A strong background in cultivating, soliciting, and stewardingmajor gifts from individual, corporate, and foundationaldonors</li>
<li>Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate to Board members,patrons, artists, and fellow Symphony Space staff members</li>
<li>An ability to represent Symphony Space positively to patrons,external stakeholders, and the public at large</li>
<li>An ability to think strategically, work collaboratively, andcommunicate plans and ideas clearly and effectively</li>

Position Summary
The Development Director should be an experienceddevelopment professional ready to lead two major fundraisinginitiatives, an endowment campaign and our major giving program,for our organization to galvanize the resources we need to advanceour mission.
