Purpose Assists the chef in preparing the food, maintains the cooking environment clean and safe for all staff members and takes on culinary tasks as they arise. The job requires physical endurance as well as mental determination and involves working in stress conditions for most of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Stores ingredients in dedicated containers, making sure that they are best preserved</li>
<li>Inform the chef when the ingredients stock is getting low or when the kitchen tools do not work properly</li>
<li>Cleans and sanitizes the working surfaces, tools, utensils and working area</li>
<li>Carefully supervises the food temperature and the temperature from cooling, to ensure that the ingredients kept are kept at the appropriate temperature</li>
<li>Other tasks as assigned</li>

Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite, after completion of the probationary period (one year). Selection Process (1) The selection process may include one or more of the following: application review, application assessment, performance exercise, written exercise and/or interview.
