ABOUT THE ROLE
The Strategic Initiatives Specialist reports to the Chief of Staff and supports the Office of the Executive Director in implementing DC PCSB Board Meetings, the Strategic Roadmap, and other agency-wide initiatives and events. The Strategic Initiatives Specialist will be the go-to person for planning DC PCSB board meetings and engaging with board members. They will ensure the seven-member Board has what it needs to make its high-stakes decisions to open and close schools during board meetings that are open to the public. The Strategic Initiatives Specialist is the trusted go-to person for board members and speaks with confidence about the board meeting when interacting with stakeholders inside and outside the agency.
The Specialist will partner closely with the Chief of Staff, Operations, and Strategic Initiatives Manager, leading the logistics, planning, and administrative operations to ensure DC PCSB staff have access to the information and systems required to do their best work. This position is critical to ensuring agency-wide strategic communication and initiatives are transparent, seamless, and timely.
Core Responsibilities

<li>Board Member Systems and Engagement

<li>Partner with the Operations Coordinator and External Affairs to schedule and plan school visits where the DC PCSB Executive Director and Board Members have a formal opportunity to see the schools in our portfolio up close</li>
<li>Build relationships and work closely with board members such that you might anticipate their engagement preferences.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Prepare for and facilitate the annual Board calendaring and engagement kickoff meeting to connect with all relevant parties and ensure their roles and responsibilities are clear</li>

<li>Board Meeting Systems
<ul>
<li>Handle recurring and ad hoc Board Meeting Logistics, including scheduling, Zoom facilitation, and closeout.</li>
<li>Review and check all board materials across departments for formatting and completeness.</li>
<li>Manage the run-of-show to ensure that all parties involved are prepared to deliver on their respective aspects of the meeting</li>
<li>Lead internal DC PCSB communication related to board meetings, supporting the Chief of Staff to implement a variety of systems required to ensure board meetings run smoothly.</li>
<li>Partner with the External Affairs team to manage the receipt, response, tracking, and routing of public comments submitted for board meetings.</li>
<li>Own and implement the Open Meetings Act process steps required to ensure DC PCSB staff meetings are compliant, transparent, and accessible to all community members.</li>

<li>Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Transparency Systems

<li>Facilitate and own the overall SOP development, maintenance, and communication process at DC PCSB</li>
<li>Ensure DC PCSB Standard Operating Procedures are complete, accurate, and timely</li>
<li>Implement and monitor the processes for creating and updating SOPs at DC PCSB</li>
<li>Review documentation and ensure consistency across SOPs</li>
<li>Develop training and materials on the creation and maintenance of SOPs and other cross-agency transparency systems</li>
<li>Stay informed of new processes and significant changes, ensuring proper documentation, ownership, and approval by relevant stakeholders.</li>

<li>Strategic Initiatives Systems and Logistics
<ul>
<li>Work closely with the Strategic Initiatives Manager to monitor and update the DC PCSB strategic roadmap</li>
<li>Gather and organize materials and details required to assess the status of the roadmap</li>
<li>Conduct outreach to the strategic roadmap owners to ensure timely delivery of the relevant roadmap objectives</li>
<li>Own end-to-end annual planning calendar update, maintenance and launch processes, centralizing all key DC PCSB workstreams in one place</li>
<li>Interface frequently with members of the leadership team to track progress and steer the direction of cross-functional initiatives</li>

<li>Staff Meeting and Agency Event Operations Logistics
<ul>
<li>Under the guidance of the Strategic Initiatives Manager, support planning and implementation of the bi-weekly all-staff meeting, all-staff retreat, and other large-scale staff events</li>

Job Description
Job Summary:
To provide rehabilitative services to consumers with mental illness, in the form of instruction, support, and assistance for the purpose of promoting psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, and independent living skills.
Scope of the Position:
The Mental Health Practitioner will report to a designated supervisor. The Practitioner will provide services that are rehabilitative and enable the client to develop and enhance psychiatric stability, personal and emotional adjustment, social competencies, community skills, and independent living skills.&nbsp; The Practitioner will support the client in strengthening skill areas needed according to their treatment plan. The practitioner is responsible for basic cleanliness, and maintaining of the program site and contents within site (office equipment). The agency provides services to clients in the metro area.&nbsp; The number of clients served by each practitioner varies by the type of case and intensity of services provided.&nbsp; The agency provides services to adults.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:&nbsp; 
Mental health practitioner qualifications
(a) An individual who is qualified in at least one of the ways described in paragraph (b) to (d) may serve as a mental health practitioner.
(b) An individual is qualified as a mental health practitioner through relevant coursework if the individual completes at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and:
(1) has at least 2,000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with:
(i) a mental illness or a substance use disorder; or
(ii) a traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to a client;
(2) is fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50 percent of the individual's clients belong, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to a client;
(3) is working in a day treatment program under section 256B.0671, subdivision 3, or 256B.0943;
(4) has completed a practicum or internship that (i) required direct interaction with adult clients or child clients, and
(ii) was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; or
(5) is in the process of completing a practicum or internship as part of a formal undergraduate or graduate training program in social work, psychology, or counseling.
(c) An individual is qualified as a mental health practitioner through work experience if the individual:
(1) has at least 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with:
(i) a mental illness or a substance use disorder; or
(ii) a traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to clients; or
(2) receives treatment supervision at least once per week until meeting the requirement in clause (1) of 4,000 hours of experience and has at least 2,000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with:
(i) a mental illness or a substance use disorder; or
(ii) a traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to clients.
(d) An individual is qualified as a mental health practitioner if the individual has a master's or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.
ARMHS experience highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
A. Provide Mental Health Rehabilitative Services
<ol>
<li>Facilitate intake meetings</li>
<li>Provide direct skills with the client’s involvement</li>
<li>Develop a Recovery goal, Rehab goal, and Objective with client</li>
<li>Utilize Illness Management and Recovery (ARMHS)</li>
<li>Practitioner will engage in outside ongoing education and continuing education required to maintain their position</li>
<li>Provide parent management training</li>
<li>Use motivational interviewing skills</li>
<li>Facilitate CBT skills with consumers</li>
<li>Make weekly phone calls to appropriate providers</li>
<li>Prepare History for Diagnostic Assessment</li>
<li>Provide confidentiality</li>
<li>Coordinate services with county case managers, family/guardian of client, work personnel, medical personnel, etc.</li>
<li>Participate in professional meetings and workshops</li>
<li>Develop therapeutic relationship with team and consumers</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>
</ol>
B. Documentation
<ol>
<li>Maintain client files, update client files, update treatment plans quarterly, do all required documentation, and registration form as specified in department of human services guidelines.</li>
<li>Complete accurate case notes on individual, family and group skills for each billable unit.</li>
<li>Prepare written reports and state mandated paperwork</li>
<li>Complete case notes in session</li>
<li>Secure car files</li>
<li>And other duties as assigned</li>
</ol>
C. Provide Community Bases Services
<ol>
<li>Must have current driver’s license in good standing</li>
<li>Have comprehensive auto insurance</li>
<li>Maintain own reliable transportation</li>
<li>Provide services in various billable locations</li>
<li>Maintain staff and professional relationships with consumers and their individual community and property</li>
</ol>
D. Public Relations/Networking/Liaison
<ol>
<li>Responsible for the reputation and public image of the agency</li>
<li>Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the community</li>
<li>Refer clients to other professional as needed with supervisor approval</li>
<li>Communicate with other providers involved</li>
<li>Practitioner will educate self on community resources</li>
<li>Have knowledge of all agency programs</li>
</ol>
E. Insurance/County/3rd Party Payers
<ol>
<li>General knowledge of 3rd party insurance coverage and benefits</li>
<li>A working understanding medical billing</li>
<li>Maintaining accurate and current billing information on each consumer</li>
<li>Communicate with billing office if any changes</li>
</ol>
