First Call Direct Hire Professional Services Division is recruiting for a Production Manager opportunity with a growing manufacturing company located in Washington, Indiana.
We are seeking an experienced manufacturing leader who can oversee production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring customer requirements are met with a strong focus on Quality, Cost, and Delivery.
Job Summary:The Production Manager is responsible for developing and executing production plans to meet customer delivery requirements. This position will oversee production schedules, resource allocation, inventory management, process improvements, and collaboration across multiple departments to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage production plans, schedules, timelines, and work orders to meet production goals.
- Forecast demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels based on customer needs, historical data, and market conditions.
- Manage raw material inventory and coordinate purchasing plans to support production requirements.
- Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
- Partner with Quality and Production teams to support quality improvement initiatives and defect management processes.
- Track production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
- Support safety policies and procedures within the manufacturing environment.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize workflow, productivity, and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with Sales, Maintenance, Engineering, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
- Work with the Plant Manager and team members to develop processes that support production scheduling requirements.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- 2+ years of experience managing production schedules, resources, or similar manufacturing operations.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong math and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment preferred.
- Automotive, plastics injection molding, or extrusion experience is a plus.
- Experience with automotive APQP documentation and PPAP submissions preferred.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing plant environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
- Requires use of PPE, including safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
