Job Title: Production Group Leader
Job Description
Join our dynamic team in Washington, IN, where we manufacture high-quality extrusion-molded plastic components for the automotive industry. As a Production Group Leader, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily department operations across assembly, quality, and extrusion. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be on the floor with your team, ensuring smooth production processes and fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily department operations, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and 5S.
- Own safety, quality, productivity, and cost KPIs, and communicate these effectively.
- Provide training, development, and accountability for team members.
- Create, update, and manage work instructions.
- Prepare for shifts and conduct pre-shift communications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other Group Leads and Managers.
- Support defect management and quality containment.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 1–2 years of team or group lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on manufacturing operations experience with knowledge of production processes and quality control.
- Ability to manage production scheduling, resource allocation, and 5S.
- Understanding of quality control methods and ability to address defects.
- Experience in training and mentoring team members.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in injection molding or extrusion processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) is a plus.
- High school diploma required; leadership experience valued over formal education.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.

Work Environment
Our facility operates in a standard automotive plant environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection, is required. Expect to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Overtime may be necessary to meet operational demands. The work culture is grounded in Japanese manufacturing principles, emphasizing continuous improvement and team accountability. You will lead a department-level team and collaborate with other leaders and plant management.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
