Job Description
This role focuses on assembling heating and cooling units in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will begin in a general assembly position using hand tools to build the exterior of units and, over time, receive training in wiring, testing, and brazing. You will work both independently and as part of a team to assemble full units or components, using hand and power tools and reading blueprints for more complex assemblies. This position requires standing throughout the shift and rotating into different areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assemble heating and cooling units in the Cooling Department according to specifications and work instructions.
- Start in a general assembly role using hand tools to assemble the exterior of units and ensure components are properly fitted and secured.
- Progressively learn and perform wiring and testing of units as training is provided.
- Participate in training to become certified in brazing and apply those skills to unit assembly when required.
- Work individually and as part of a team to assemble full units or specific components to meet production goals.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams for more complex assemblies to ensure correct installation of parts.
- Rotate into different areas of the department as needed to support production and cross-training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures.
- Meet quality standards and production targets by following established processes and reporting any issues or defects.
Essential Skills
- Strong desire to work in manufacturing, even without prior manufacturing experience.
- At least 3 months of assembly experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience working with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to use basic mechanical skills in an assembly or production environment.
- Comfortable standing for the entire shift in a high-speed environment.
- Ability to follow instructions, read basic documentation, and learn new tasks and processes.
- Willingness to submit to a check.
- Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Any prior experience in production, packaging, general labor, construction, or mechanical work is beneficial.
- Experience working on a production line or in a large manufacturing facility is an asset.
- Comfort using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical equipment.
- Openness to cross-training in other departments such as warehouse or fabrication over time.
- Willingness to pursue additional training, including potential certification in brazing.
- Interest in long-term growth and advancement within a manufacturing organization.

Work Environment
This position is based in a very large, high-speed manufacturing environment that is not structured as a traditional assembly line. The facility is clean but not temperature controlled, so it can become hot during the summer months. You will stand for the entire shift and rotate through different areas as needed, working with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment on heating and cooling units. The environment emphasizes safety, productivity, and teamwork, with clear processes and support available onsite.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
