Randstad Staffing is hiring for a CNC Machinist II for a precision machine shop in Lauderdale, MN. This role requires advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills and proactive approach to improving machining processes and overall department efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical degree or certification in CNC machining.
- 3-5 years of experience in CNC machining, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings.
- strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in CNC programming (G-code, M-code) and CAD/CAM software.
- Understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of PLCs and manufacturing robotics is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive continuous improvement in machining operations.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (lathe, milling, or other machining equipment) using G-code and M-code.
- Troubleshoot and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cycle times.
- Recognize and solve problems related to machine performance, programming errors, and process inefficiencies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance the overall CNC department.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve machining processes and manufacturing workflows.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure parts meet required specifications.
