Job Description
Seeking technicians to work closely with process, project and tooling engineering along with production to coordinate activities connected with technical developments, scheduling and resolving design and test problems, or to implement new product launches on the production floor with our robotic welding equipment or CNC laser cutting and bending equipment. Skilled at problem-solving, this person will also investigate and develop countermeasures to ongoing issues of existing processes.
 
Summary: Engage in hands-on process technical support on the production floor a minimum 80% of time. Under minimum supervision, performs new tool tryouts, analyzes tool design and specifications for the purpose of determining how tools are designed to function. Assist operators with technical problem solving and recommending creative technical solutions. Perform a variety of duties such as conducting tests, reporting data, adjusting equipment, troubleshooting equipment, diagnosing and recommending actions from findings. 
 
Schedule: We have three openings for this position. Both are non-exempt (overtime pay eligible). 
 
Posting 2025-080 – Will primarily work 11.5 or more hours per day, three or more days per week based on business needs to support our weekend day shift Friday to Sunday 6PM to 6AM in our robotic welding areas.
 
Posting 2025-088-01 - Will primarily work ten or more hours per day, four or more days per week based on business needs to support our day shift Monday to Thursday 6AM to 4:30PM in our “secondary” areas of CNC, bending and cutting operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
<ul>
<li>Design and develop manufacturing processes to optimize productivity and workflow.</li>
<li>Provide process documentation and detailed operating instructions.</li>
<li>Oversee implementation of new processes and procedures.</li>
<li>Examine existing processes and suggest improvements in methods and tooling.</li>
<li>Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with processes, procedures, and operations.</li>
<li>Monitor job performance KPIs (Quality, Delivery and Cost) and proactively investigate under-performing processes.</li>
<li>Prepare detail cost estimates for quotes.</li>
<li>Perform risk assessments and participate in pFMEAs and 8Ds.</li>
<li>Lead and support improvement projects - LEAN deployment, 6S, and Continuous Improvement</li>
<li>Support other team members to ensure achievement of overall business goals. </li>
<li>Ensures all manufacturing process documentation is published and ready for the shop (programs, tooling lists, setup lists, fixturing).</li>
<li>Supports emerging support requests from Operations.</li>
<li>When requested, manage specific projects including develop and tracking an MS project schedule in cooperation with a program manager. This could include Capital Equipment installations or new product development.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
<ul>
<li>Functional knowledge and understanding of core manufacturing processes such as toolmaking, assembly, and inspection.</li>
<li>Experience with exotic metals including Inconel, Titanium and Metal Matrix Composites</li>
<li>Working knowledge of process engineering software packages (either MASTERCAM or Solidworks) is required. Experience with other CAD may be considered with a commitment to be trained in Solidworks.</li>
<li>Knowledge of GD&amp;T and industry technical standards.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement concepts.</li>
</ul>

 Skills Required:

<ul>
<li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, and procedures.</li>
<li>Ability to facilitate problem solving using tools such as 8-D, 5-Whys, etc.</li>
<li>Excellent computer skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to use Microsoft Project preferred.</li>
<li>Good Communication skills. Both Verbal and Written.</li>
</ul>

 
Education and/or Experience:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) Preferred.</li>
<li>Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.</li>
<li>10 years of experience in Production/Process Engineering with heavy CNC machining emphasis.</li>

FULLTIME/PARTTIME: Fulltime

ASSIGNMENT: ASAP (once onboarding clears) - 1/4/2027 (potential for conversion or perm placement)

LOCATION: Maple Grove, MN

SCHEDULE: M-F, 8am-4:30 pm 

PAY RANGE: $50-60/hr, paid weekly

Key Responsibilities 1. Consistently generates innovative and unique solutions to market needs and submits idea disclosures. Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined products, processes or equipment. 2. Successfully completes complex engineering work in one or more of the following: technology development, product design and development, test of materials or products, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigation (animal and clinical studies), and report preparation. 3. Selects techniques to solve complex problems and make sound design recommendations. 4. Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from complex test results. 5. Designs and prepares complex reports to communicate results to technical community. 6. Designs and coordinates complex engineering tests and experiments. 7. Coordinates, manages, and documents project goals and progress and recommends appropriate revisions. 8. May train and/or provide work direction to technicians and entry-level engineers. 14. Demonstrates PDP/TPD system knowledge through delivery of high quality and high impact deliverables.
