Quality Technician
This client is an electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider specializing in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies. We are seeking a motivated Quality Technician to join our growing team.
The Quality Technician supports our Quality Lead by helping inspect cable and wire harness assemblies against customer specifications and company standards - this role exists to take volume off their plate during our busiest shipping periods. No certifications or advanced QA background are required; we're looking for a dependable individual who understands the basics of quality inspection, is eager to learn, takes pride in their work, and is always willing to pitch in wherever needed, even on the less glamorous tasks.
Responsibilities
- Help the Quality Lead keep up with inspection volume, especially during high-throughput shipping periods.
- Perform visual inspections of cable and wire harness assemblies to verify compliance with customer drawings, workmanship standards, and company requirements.
- Conduct continuity and electrical testing on cable and wire harness assemblies.
- Document inspection results and report any nonconforming products to the appropriate personnel.
- Verify products meet quality standards before shipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and support corrective actions.
- Follow established inspection procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work closely with Production and Engineering to resolve quality concerns.
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the quality department.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production and customer needs.
Knowledge / Experience
- Some previous manufacturing experience helpful; no QA certification required - we'll train the right person
- Experience inspecting cable and wire harness assemblies is a plus, not required
- Experience performing continuity testing and using multimeters preferred
- Experience using Cirris cable testers is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Basic computer skills for recording inspection results
