Overview:
- Grind, deburr, sand, brush, blend, and polish fabricated metal parts
- Produce consistent finishes to customer specs
- Remove weld discoloration, scratches, burrs, and surface imperfections
- Read blueprints, travelers, and work instructions
- Inspect finished parts for cosmetic, dimensional, and quality standards
- Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, sanders, and polishing equipment safely
- Select appropriate abrasives, pads, and compounds by material/finish type
- Verify work with calipers, tape measures, squares, and finish samples
Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or GEDManufacturing/metal fabrication experience preferredExperience with stainless steel finishing, polishing, grinding, or deburring preferredBlueprint-reading abilityStrong attention to detail and craftsmanshipSafe use of hand/power toolsBasic math and measurement skills
