Embark on a meaningful contract assignment supporting elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities in a welcoming school environment near Crofton, KY. As a Special Education Teacher specializing in Moderate/Severe Disabilities (MSD), you'll make an impact during the 2026-2027 academic year, working alongside a dedicated team serving a manageable caseload.
This role runs from August 4, 2026, through May 17, 2027, spanning 37.5 hours each week. You will serve a group of seven elementary students, providing tailored instruction, compassionate support, and specialized interventions.
Desired Experience and Credentials:
- Valid Kentucky Special Education Teacher Certification with MSD endorsement
- Documented experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Passion for delivering individualized, inclusive education
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptable and patient approach when meeting diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct instruction and life skills training tailored to each student's unique abilities
- Track student progress and communicate milestones to caregivers and colleagues
- Modify curriculum, lessons, and assessments to suit a range of learning styles
- Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment that fosters both academic and social growth
