Paralegal
Washington, DC (Onsite | Fulltime position)
Seeking an experienced Paralegal to support a plaintiff-side litigation firm specializing in defamation, media law, reputation management, and related business torts. The role involves assisting with high-stakes litigation and reputation counseling matters nationwide, including pre-litigation advocacy, investigations, strategic correspondence, media-related issues, and case management while supporting attorneys representing individuals, businesses, public figures, and institutions.
Litigation Support Responsibilities:
Prepare, file, and manage pleadings, motions, and other legal documents in state and federal courts.
Handle electronic court filings, maintain litigation calendars, and track case deadlines.
Perform cite-checking and Bluebook compliance for legal briefs and memoranda.
Retrieve court records, docket materials, and public documents.
Coordinate with court reporters, process servers, e-discovery vendors, and trial consultants.
Organize and maintain case files, manage document collection, review, production, and e-discovery.
Support discovery, subpoenas, and overall case administration.
Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness coordination, and trial binders for high-stakes litigation matters.
Qualifications
3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in commercial litigation, media law, defamation, or complex civil litigation.
Strong familiarity with federal and state court filing systems.
Experience managing litigation files and document-intensive matters.
Working knowledge of e-discovery platforms and litigation support technology.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written communication and proofreading abilities.
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously.
