Job DescriptionSecurities & Public Company Advisory – Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Securities & Public Company Advisory – Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in New York, New York or Washington, D.C.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 3-6 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience to join a nationally recognized Financial Restructuring practice. The team advises creditors and other stakeholders in complex in-court and out-of-court restructurings, handling sophisticated transactional and litigation matters arising from distressed situations.

Responsibilities

• Represent secured creditors and other stakeholders in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters.

• Advise clients on in-court and out-of-court restructurings.

• Handle both transactional and litigation aspects of financial restructuring engagements.

• Draft and negotiate restructuring agreements, bankruptcy filings, pleadings, motions, and related legal documents.

• Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance on insolvency and restructuring issues.

• Participate in negotiations with debtors, creditors, and other parties in interest.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary legal teams on sophisticated restructuring transactions and litigation.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Active membership in a U.S. state bar.

• 3-6 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience at a major law firm.

• Experience representing creditors, particularly secured creditors, in large restructuring matters.

• Experience with both transactional and litigation aspects of bankruptcy and restructuring.

• Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

• Strong academic credentials and the ability to manage complex matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $260,000-$390,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
