Direct Counsel is seeking a Securities & Public Company Advisory – Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in New York, New York or Washington, D.C.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 3-6 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience to join a nationally recognized Financial Restructuring practice. The team advises creditors and other stakeholders in complex in-court and out-of-court restructurings, handling sophisticated transactional and litigation matters arising from distressed situations.
Responsibilities

Represent secured creditors and other stakeholders in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters.

Advise clients on in-court and out-of-court restructurings.

Handle both transactional and litigation aspects of financial restructuring engagements.

Draft and negotiate restructuring agreements, bankruptcy filings, pleadings, motions, and related legal documents.

Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance on insolvency and restructuring issues.

Participate in negotiations with debtors, creditors, and other parties in interest.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary legal teams on sophisticated restructuring transactions and litigation.
Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Active membership in a U.S. state bar.

3-6 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience at a major law firm.

Experience representing creditors, particularly secured creditors, in large restructuring matters.

Experience with both transactional and litigation aspects of bankruptcy and restructuring.

Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Strong academic credentials and the ability to manage complex matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $260,000-$390,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
