Duties Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Surgical First Assistant is to provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.

<li>Assists with body plane closure, application of wound dressings and securing of drainage systems.</li>
<li>Participate in emergency resuscitation and stabilization if needed.</li>
