What will you do in this job?

<li>Works closely with and supervises BOH staff, in absence of Executive Chef, in the Grouse Mountain Lodge (GML) food &amp; beverage department</li>
<li>Works with Executive Chef to supervise prep staff, cooks and all other kitchen team members, providing coaching and mentoring to develop strong talent and ensure high levels of engagement</li>
<li>Continually observes methods of food preparation to ensure appropriate food safety, portion sizes, garnishing, visual plating is consistently prepared with high quality</li>
<li>Ensures ongoing quality assurance by working closely with culinary staff and ensuring menu sampling as appropriate</li>
<li>Creates a positive team environment in each kitchen, working closely with both new and experiences chefs, cooks and mentoring programs for F&amp;B apprentices</li>
<li>Collaborates in creating specials highlighting local ingredients and Montana-inspired cuisine</li>
<li>Leads restaurant &amp; banquet food production including prep, line cooking and expediting</li>

As the People Business Partner you will provide People Team consultation and support to designated lines of business within the collection you support. ROLE &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;
Business Partnership&nbsp;

Identify and address performance opportunities/issues through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action when necessary.&nbsp;
Training &amp; Development&nbsp;
Participate in collection and line of business training and development initiatives as identified. Provide recommendations for training opportunities based on identified gaps.&nbsp;
Support team member development through succession planning.&nbsp;
Compliance&nbsp;
Subscribe to relevant publications to stay up to date with US, Alaska, and/or Montana labor laws and regulations in our industry.&nbsp;

REQUIRED SKILLS &amp; QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred; or real-world education in the school of hard knocks&nbsp;
3+ years progressive HR experience in a travel, leisure, and/or hospitality organization&nbsp;
Solid understanding of HR best practices and US labor laws&nbsp;
Strong curiosity with the ability to research what you don’t know and develop recommendations to share with People and Operations leadership&nbsp;

LOCATION (West)
This position will be based out of our Columbia Falls office during the winter months and transition to field work during the operating season (April–October), typically four days per week. During the off-season, the typical schedule is Monday through Friday; during&nbsp;the operating season,&nbsp;on-call support is&nbsp;required&nbsp;on Saturday and Sunday as team member situations arise.&nbsp;
