Baytown Township is one of the oldest townships in Minnesota. We have approximately 2,200 residents and we take great pride in preserving a rural residential community while being close to the Twin Cities.
Baytown Township is seeking an experienced and highly organized Township Clerk to support the administrative operations of the township and assist the Board of Supervisors. This on‐site position averages 20 hours per week and requires a self‐directed individual with strong communication and office management skills.
Township Clerk (On‐Site, Approx. 20 Hours/Week)

Responsibilities
• Manage official township records, including minutes, resolutions, and correspondence
• Prepare agendas, meeting packets, public notices, and required filings
• Manage escrows and permits, coordinating with other township staff
• Attend Board of Supervisors meetings and produce accurate minutes
• Communicate professionally and courteously with residents—polite but firm when needed
• Coordinate election responsibilities and compliance with relevant state requirements
• Perform general office administration, document organization, billing coordination, and daily operations
• Support the Board with reports, updates, and scheduling
• Create and manage documents, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Assist in managing the Township website for content and documents
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in administrative support, recordkeeping, or office management
• Strong organizational and time‐management skills
• Ability to work independently and be self‐directed
• Excellent communication skills with residents, vendors, and the township board
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Candidates with previous township, municipal, or office manager experience are preferred
Schedule
• Approximately 20 hours per week
• On‐site at the Baytown Township office
• Some scheduling flexibility based on township needs
Pay
• Hourly Rate
