Primary Responsibilities:

Requirements:

<li>Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or Equivalent Training from Accredited Medical Assisting Training</li>
<li>Phlebotomy Certification - preferred</li>
<li>CPR/BLS Certification</li>
<li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Minimum One (1) year of experience - preferred</li>
<li>Passionate, friendly, and caring individual</li>
<li>Utilize universal precautions for patient care</li>
<li>Experience working with military - preferred</li>
<li>Experience working with mobile medical services - preferred</li>
<li>Proficient with computer programs</li>
<li>Must have weekend availability </li>

Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt 
Salary: $19/hour
 
CEDA (Community and Economic Development Association) is a dynamic nonprofit on a mission to empower communities and fight poverty. We are looking for an Advocateto join our dynamic Women Infant and Children Department and ensure our programs maintain the highest quality standards for the communities that need us!
 
What You'll do:
<ul>
<li>Verifies participant eligibility, reviews program consent with client, and enters program intake, client information, breastfeeding contacts and referrals into IWIC.</li>
<li>Instructs all clients how to use the EBT card, shopping list, and IWIC app.</li>
<li>Obtains and documents client anthropometric measurements utilizing length/height boards, scales, head circumference tapes and non-invasive hemoglobin monitors.</li>
<li>Manages all client schedules and all client communications to maximize client participation (telephone, voicemail, in person, email, text, and virtual).</li>
<li>Provides translation for WIC staff and clients (bilingual staff only).</li>
</ul>

What We're Looking for:
<ul>
<li>Required: This is a bilingual position, must be able to speak English and Spanish fluently. High School Diploma or GED. 1-3 years' experience in an office, clinic, or similar workplace environment.</li>
<li>Preferred: 2-year associate's degree or vocational training preferred. Experience with children preferred. Familiarity with the WIC program a plus.</li>
<li>Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; schedule may vary based on program needs and Saturday clinic operations but will never exceed five working days per week.There are two (2) positions available in the West Region:

<li>
Floating Position – Tuesday through Saturday, based at Oak Lawn (60453), with frequent floating required to Cicero (60501) and Maywood (60153).

<li>
Maywood-Based Position – Based at Maywood (60153), with floating required to Oak Lawn (60453) and Cicero (60501).
</li>

</li>
<li>Training: Must complete intensive breastfeeding education training during first year of Employment. Upon successful completion of Breastfeeding Peer Counselor/Education training, WIC Advocate earns title of BFPC (Breastfeeding Peer Counselor) or BFPE (Breastfeeding Peer Educator) depending on previous breastfeeding experience.</li>
<li>Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, and Internet. Experience with client management systems is a plus.</li>
