Job Summary
Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, and provide services that include helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver and pick-up their meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction goals by making sure meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature. What we ask of you:
<ul>
<li>Record Patient's presenting complaint and associated symptoms, obtain medical history, reconcile meds and document and update allergies.</li>
<li>Perform lens neutralization and accurately refract.</li>
<li>Plot visual fields using Goldman/automated perimeter, and obtain intraocular pressure measurements with Goldman applantation, tonopen and I-care.</li>
<li>Assess pupillary functions, check for color vision defects and take Keratometry readings.</li>
<li>Perform strabismus evaluations, Maddox rods, cover testing, Hirschberg-Krimsky measurements and examination of ductions and versions.</li>
<li>Obtain A-scan and B-scan ultrasound readings and accurately obtain data for intraocular lense calculations.</li>
<li>Calibrate an maintain clinical devices and assist eye care provider during minor/major surgeries.</li>
<li>Administer oral and ocular medications as directed by eye care provider and explain physician's orders to include pre-operativeand other patient teaching as indicated.</li>
<li>Photography (Internal and external), obtain quality OCT's of Optic Nerve and Retina.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Triage patients both in-clinic on the phone or inbox messages, and contact patients with results/arrange for additional testing.</li>
<li>Review and respond to medication prior authorizations as well as refill requests.</li>
<li>All other duties as assigned.</li>

What we require of you:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED.</li>
<li>One year (full time equivalent of 2080 hours) or more of ophthalmic technician experience or completion of an accredited technical vocational school ophthalmic technician program.</li>
<li>Ophthalmic technician certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCHAPO) or ready for certification for ophthalmic technician by JCHAPO.</li>
<li>Must be professional, punctual, dependable and possess good communication skills. Must be able to interact with patients and staff in a courteous and cooperative manner.</li>
<li>Proficiency with computers and keyboarding.</li>

Schedule: Monday - Friday approximate hours between 7am-6pm

Job Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>&nbsp;Room patients for the eye care provider which includes:&nbsp; Record patient’s presenting complaint/history, reconcile meds, document allergies, obtain visual acuity, check pupils, motility, cover test and confrontation fields,&nbsp; neutralize and record patient’s eyeglass prescription, perform stereo testing and color vision testing as indicated.</li>
<li>Perform visual field testing/OCT/intraocular pressure measurements/pachymetry/photography.</li>
<li>Schedule surgery and all appropriate&nbsp;pre-op and post-op appointments.</li>
<li>Triage patients – in clinic, on phone or inbox messages. Contact patients with test results. Arrange for consults and additional testing.</li>
<li>&nbsp;Clean and maintain all surgical and ophthalmic instruments and exam rooms. 6. Monitor and order supplies as needed.</li>
