Home Care Aide Job Description
Position Summary:
Provide compassionate, in-home support to disabled veteran's by assisting with daily living activities, personal care, companionship, and light household tasks while promoting client safety, dignity, and independence.
- Help with mobility, transfers, walking, and fall prevention.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if needed.
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, and tidying.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Remind clients to take medications
- Monitor and report changes in the client's physical or mental condition to supervisors or family members.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
- Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies.
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license may be required.
- Strong communication, compassion, patience, and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift or transfer clients safely (up to 50 pounds, if required).
- Stand, walk, bend, and assist clients throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform household tasks and respond to client needs promptly.
