Description The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is seeking one (1) full-time pathologist for appointment to join our Hematopathology Division on the School of Medicine’s clinician-teacher pathway. Clinical responsibilities will include reporting of morphology for lymph nodes, tissues, bloods and marrows, as well as flow cytometry (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing) and may include molecular diagnostic testing, hemoglobin electrophoresis and coagulation reporting, depending on the interests of the candidate. Educational activities include teaching hematology / hematopathology to students, technologists, residents and fellows. &nbsp;Applicants are expected to be involved in administrative aspects of the lab, including new test development, and develop an area of focused research / scholarly work.&nbsp;
This is a full-time, 12-month service period (July 1 – June 30) position and remains open until filled with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2024 but is flexible.
This appointment may be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor, without tenure due to reasons of funding. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors: $18,170 to $21,807 per month ($218,039 to $261,688 annually); Associate Professors: $21,903 to $25,696 per month ($262,831 to $308,357 annually); Professors: $26,023 to $31,796 per month ($312,274 to $381,547 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.&nbsp;
Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position remains open until filled with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2024, but is flexible.&nbsp;

POSITION: Dedicated Aide for Health Support (DA)
REPORTS TO: Dean of Student Culture
 
Bridges is seeking a passionate Dedicated Aide for Health Supports to support students with special needs in our inclusion and non-categorical self-contained classrooms. The Dedicated Aide will assist with specialized instruction and related services for students in grades Pre-K3 through 5th grade. The types of students with special needs who have Dedicated Aides assigned to them include: students with autism, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), developmental delays in one or more areas, intense behavioral challenges, multiple learning problems, and other related disorders. Bridges classrooms are rooted in the principles of ABA/VB to guide instruction and classroom management. Supervision is provided to all teaching team members by a certified BCBA practitioner. ABA or VB experience is desired but not necessary to apply for the position. Training in classroom-based ABA and VB will be provided. The position is a 10-month position.

As a Dedicated Aide (DA) you will be responsible for
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the Lead Teacher in the management of a non-categorical self-contained/inclusion classroom for high-level special needs students.</li>
<li>Implement prescribed care plan and assist with all Adaptive Daily Living Skills (ADLS) (toileting, cleaning, feeding, positioning) and assistive technology.</li>
<li>Maintain safety of students and act as a positive role model.</li>
<li>Support assigned student(s) with physical and academic support during instruction.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Regularly collect data to track students progress in 4 program areas: curriculum, IEP, ADLS, and ABA/VB (if applicable).</li>
<li>Follow Functional Communication Protocols and Behavior Protocols to respond to students' behavior appropriately and successfully.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Lead Teacher, special education service providers (speech, PT, OT), ELL teacher, School Nurse, and Assistant Teachers to address student needs in the classroom.</li>
<li>Assist in incorporating student(s) into all aspects of the academic environment.</li>
<li>Support the creation of a classroom culture and environment that develops and nurtures the emotional, cognitive and social abilities of the students.</li>
<li>Contribute productively to the school as a whole.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in school events outside of regular school hours.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Adhering to the 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. work day</li>

<li>Participate in a Summer Professional Development. Summer Professional Development will be two weeks in August before students return.</li>
<li>Seek out additional opportunities for professional development that will lead to achieving personal and school-wide professional development goals.</li>
<li>Reading provided school information and adhering to all deadlines.</li>
<li>Respond to all emails within 24 hours or the next business day.</li>
<li>Other professional duties as assigned.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS

<li>Have a High School Diploma or GED, High School Diploma &amp; passed the ParaPro Exam, AA or 60 credit hours, BA or MA.</li>
<li>Having a Certified Nursing Assistant credential (CNA) and/or coursework in health services is required.</li>
<li>Experience working in special education and/or with individuals with physical and health care needs strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Child Development Associates credential and/or coursework in early childhood education/human development strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Have prior work or volunteer experience with children or students with special needs.</li>
<li>Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population.</li>
<li>Have a track record of being a team player and community-minded.</li>
<li>Be committed to their own learning, including training in ABA/VB.</li>

SALARY &amp; BENEFITS
$18.11 - 23.92 / Per Hour
Hourly rate is based on educational level, certification(s), and years of experience. The successful candidate will be contracted on an hourly basis. Employment will be renewed according to evaluations and staff interest.
