POSITION SUMMARY: 
Performs nursing functions for physician/extender. Supports the Objectives and Philosophy of White-Wilson Medical Center. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Prepares equipment and aids provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients including patient screening, histories, and vital signs.</li>
<li>Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards.</li>

<li>Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Assists in maintaining timely flow of patients.</li>
<li>Coordinates and schedules procedures at hospitals or surgery centers and handles any prior authorizations that may be necessary.</li>
<li>Initiates patient referrals and coordinates with staff if a patient has barriers with the outside referral.</li>
<li>Provides patient education regarding procedures.</li>
<li>Calls patients with necessary results.</li>
<li>Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. </li>
<li>Refills prescriptions and handles any medication authorizations for patients.</li>
<li>Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. </li>

Qualifications for a private duty LPN:
