WHAT'S REQUIRED? • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is preferred • Active state license as an APRN or PA • Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Board Certification • Current DEA license, or eligibility to obtain upon hire • Current DOT certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire • Current BLS certification
WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE? Our full-time team members work a rotating 30-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend.&nbsp; Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington (POB) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement and preservation of sight by providing services, education, advocacy, and innovation. POB programs address vision health equity in the D.C. Metropolitan community.

Job Responsibilities:

<li>One-on-one client consultations - discuss available resources (e.g. magnifiers, transportation, reading resources, etc.), simple daily adjustments that optimize client’s remaining vision (e.g. lighting and contrast, tactile elements, writing guides, etc.).</li>
<li>Answer resource hotline calls in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Resource for technology-based questions (video magnifiers, computer basics, wearables, smart devices, etc.). </li>
<li>Provide information on vision aids and devices. </li>
<li>Assist in completion of forms to access services for persons with vision loss (Talking Books, Rehabilitation Services, Metro Access, etc.).</li>
<li>Motivate clients to maintain and create social support skills and networks to maintain independence.</li>
<li>Available occasional weekends and evenings.</li>
<li>Maintain client list.</li>
<li>Participate in team meetings and training opportunities.</li>
<li>Periodic travel in D.C. Metropolitan area (DC, Suburban MD, and Northern VA).</li>
<li>Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.</li>

Qualifications:
