Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

<li>Must be 21 Years of Age or Older per DJJ Guidelines.</li>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years’ relevant experience working with youth is required. Bachelor's degree in social/behavioral services or outdoor recreation specialties is preferred. 2+ years of college in a social or human services can substitute youth experience requirement. </li>
<li>Direct care in a therapeutic/rehabilitative setting preferred. </li>
<li>Ability to travel about property, through wilderness terrain. Must be able to pass evaluation of crisis intervention/physical restraint techniques and written certification exam, and use approved techniques as needed. Must be able to participate in aquatic activities. Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time. Constant exposure to outdoors and/or weather conditions. SUMMARY
An Ophthalmic Technician is a valuable asset to an Ophthalmologist as they assist in providing excellent patient care to the patients during their visit. This employee is able to handle a wide range of duties while using equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an Ophthalmologist. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
<ul>
<li>Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)</li>
<li>Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave</li>
<li>Practice urgency at all times with patient's time, as well as doctor's time and schedule</li>
<li>Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA</li>
<li>Verify patient information by interviewing patient</li>
<li>Recording medical history, current medications and confirming purpose of visit</li>
<li>Records all data in the patient's Electronic Medical Record (EMR)</li>
<li>Checks condition of patient's eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements</li>
<li>Required skills include: dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing a variety of diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor and topography</li>
<li>Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications</li>
<li>General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager </li>

LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS
<ul>
<li>Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is preferred, but not required </li>
</ul>
SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

<li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook </li>
</ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary. </li>

<li>Coordinate care with other recovery and community-based service providers, engage in case management activity by sending referrals, completing documentation necessary to secure services, maintain chart compliance, etc.</li>
<li>Include family and natural supports in the client’s treatment, per the client’s preference.</li>
<li>Maintain and apply knowledge of new developments in the field of substance use as required by specific state licensure.</li>
<li>Maintain a collegian relationship with other substance use professionals, programs, and associations.</li>
<li>Maintain a thorough and comprehensive client record.</li>
<li>Serve as the point of contact for coordination and communication with other systems where clinical knowledge of the case is crucial.</li>
<li>Assist in screening and coordinating primary care services for clients.</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
Combination of ONE of the following education and licensure levels required:
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma, GED or higher and active CAC II or CAC III license or above</li>
<li>CAS or CAT certification acceptable</li>
<li>Masters Degree and active LAC, LPCC, LPC, LCSW or CAS license acceptable</li>
<li>Behavioral Health experience preferred</li>
