Job Description
This person will be responsible for helping the firm avoid inadvertent conflicts of interest in taking on new clients, new work, or new people. 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Successfully operating various Firm databases/software (i.e., conflicts software, client/matter database software, corporate affiliations software and other search engines including third-party government databases and the internet).</li>
<li> Processing client/matter intake requests in accordance with established procedures, including closely reviewing and editing requests and interacting with staff and attorneys to obtain missing information.</li>
<li> Conducting conflicts searches in accordance with departmental policy, including running effective searches, analyzing and filtering results as instructed and providing useful information to the Conflicts &amp; Intake Analysts and the requesting attorney to allow him/her to resolve any potential conflicts.</li>
<li>Communicating with Accounting, Records Management and other departments as necessary.</li>
<li>Ensuring the accuracy of data produced on daily reports of potential new client/matters and weekly reports of finalized new client/matters. Taking responsibility for publishing accurate, timely and useful reports.</li>
<li> Organizing workloads and managing a multitude of tasks effectively, including maintaining a strong focus; appropriately prioritizing tasks; keeping electronic files as required; and communicating the status of tasks in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Providing thorough results quickly. Conflicts requests and new client-matter intake are almost always time-sensitive or even urgent; the specialist must be able to maintain accuracy and creative thinking even under significant time constraints, including those imposed by the many time zones in which our attorneys operate.</li>
</ul>
Requirements
<ul>
<li>Four-year college degree and/or equivalent, significant, meaningful experience in the conflicts department of a law firm. </li>
<li>A minimum of 40 wpm typing. </li>
<li>Strong organizational and planning skills. </li>
<li>Self-motivated and able to work independently. </li>
<li> Must demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness commensurate to handling confidential and sensitive material. </li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; ability to efficiently search the Internet and experience working in databases. </li>
<li>Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly. </li>
<li>Flexibility to work additional hours and/or shifts, as necessary. </li>
