In this role, you will work one-on-one with children, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
Optimal Care Hospice Registered Nurses are trained professional nurses who administer skilled nursing care, and case management and provide support to terminally ill patients and their families in a home or facility setting. Hospice Registered Nurses access, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. In collaboration with the Hospice Medical Director, the Hospice Registered Nurse leads an Interdisciplinary Team of hospice professionals which may include a Hospice Aide, Medical Social Worker, Chaplin, LPN, Music Therapist, Massage Therapist, and Volunteers in providing all appropriate care for the patient. 
  
In this role you will be responsible for:

<li>Completing initial evaluation and re-evaluating the patient's nursing needs during each visit. </li>
</ul>

<li>Assuming primary responsibility for caseload, including assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. </li>

SUMMARY
Assists in surgical operations under the supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses and Surgical Assistants. Assists in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and company policies and procedures. Assists the Nurses and Surgeons in delivering the highest standard of patient care available. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
<ul>
<li>Performs their duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of their certification. </li>
<li>Complies with HIPAA regulations.</li>
<li>Ability to scrub all types of cases performed at the company. </li>
<li>Ability to anticipate the needs of the Surgeon and has equipment, medical gases and supplies readily available for all procedures. </li>
<li>Participates in continuing education/in-service training as needed, staff meetings, and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. </li>
<li>Knowledge of central and sterile supply department. </li>
<li>Opens all sterile packs according to sterile technique and prepares instruments as needed.</li>
<li>Helps prepare Operating Room by setting up surgical instruments, ensuring equipment works properly, labeling sterile solutions. </li>
<li>Helps gather supplies and equipment in the room. </li>
<li>Maintains record on field of medication used intra-operatively, specimens retrieved, tissue implanted, implants, liquids or chemicals on field. </li>
<li>Passes instruments and other sterile supplies to surgical assistants. </li>
<li>May hold retractors, cut suture, help count sponges, needles or blades if applicable.</li>
<li>Prepares, cares for and disposes of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.</li>
<li>Operates sterilizer, lights, suction, and other Operating Room equipment and diagnostic equipment. </li>
<li>Assists in patient transfer to PACU, if needed. </li>
<li>Helps clean and restock operating room. </li>
<li>Assists with any technical function under supervision of system to carry out a safe operation. </li>
<li>Preps, drapes and positions the patient for surgery. </li>
<li>Prepares for case according to Surgeon's preference card. </li>
<li>Gathers supplies needed and anticipates needs for case. </li>
<li>Assists in orientation of new staff when needed.</li>
<li>Actively participates in the development of a healthy work environment. </li>
<li>Other duties as assigned. </li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Ability to prioritize, plan, and implement patient care within the scope of their practice.</li>
<li>Ability to handle stress associated with prioritizing multiple tasks. </li>
<li>Needs manual dexterity to handle instruments. </li>
<li>Must be emotionally conscientious, orderly, and emotionally stable to handle the OR environment.</li>
<li>Has the ability to adhere to work schedule, be organized, manage time effectively and in a cost effective manner. </li>
<li>Above average organization skills.</li>
<li>Able to effectively work within a team.</li>
<li>Above average communication skills: verbal and written. </li>

<li>This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary. </li>
