Job Description 
The R&amp;D Laboratory Technician is responsible for providing support to the Research and Development (R&amp;D) department by performing a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature. These procedures include, but are not limited to, gathering, and preparing samples and substances for analysis; maintaining laboratory inventory; handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances; collecting and analyzing data; and reporting findings to a Project Manager. The R&amp;D Lab Tech will work with potentially hazardous materials such as pathogens or chemicals and is well trained to maintain safe laboratory conditions.
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities

Qualifications, Experience, and Essential Skills Requirements: 
Education and Experience 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in the social service field with one (1) year of experience in care coordination/case management preferred OR minimum 4 years of case management and care planning experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.</li>
<li>Bilingual/Multilingual in English and Spanish, Farsi, Dari, Russian, Arabic, Hmong, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and/or American Sign Language highly preferred</li>
<li>Experience in outreach and inter-agency referral services preferred</li>
<li>Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), EPIC preferred</li>
<li>Knowledge of Sacramento and Yolo County Community Resources strongly preferred</li>
<li>1 year of experience with Assessment and Care Planning (SMART format) is strongly preferred</li>
<li>2 years of experience with SOAP/encounter note writing is strongly preferred</li>
<li>1 year of experience managing 50 or more cases is preferred</li>
<li>Experience working with the Homeless, Chronically ill, Substance Use Disorders, Serious Mental Illness, and/or Children &amp; Youth is preferred.</li>
<li>Experience with Enhanced Care Management is preferred</li>
<li>Knowledge of basic medical terminology</li>
<li>Strong understanding of HIPAA</li>
<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite</li>
<li>Current BLS certification required </li>

Physical Requirements and Work Environment 
The work environment is office, clinic, and field-based, administering program education and Care Coordination to Adults, Children, and Youth experiencing homelessness, high utilizers, those with Serious Mental Illness and/or Substance Use Disorders, and recent immigrants. Work environment includes office, clinic, hospitals/facilities, client homes, streets and homeless encampments, and homeless shelters. Employees are to adhere to field visit policies, including, but not limited to being accompanied by a colleague while working with clients in a not public setting. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. FUNCTIONAL ROLE
The MedTech/Shift Manager acts as team leader of resident caregivers ensuring that the resident needs are met. Assists in the skill training of all new resident caregivers.
Required: High School Diploma or its equivalent
Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant or HHA certificate.
Experience
The person selected for this position must be eighteen (18) years or older, must have prior experience in caregiving and must understand medication pass protocol.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Able to provide competent personal assistance to residents including hygiene, knowledge of caregiving techniques and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Mental
Must be able to handle stress well, be detail and systems oriented. Must be able to think and make decisions consistent with policies and procedures and licensing.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

<li>Administer medications to the residents in a safe and timely manner.</li>
<li>Ensure caregivers carry out their responsibility on the particular shift, including resident plan of care, shower schedule and linen changing.</li>
<li>Communicate resident status changes with Assistant Administrator/Care Coordinator.</li>
<li>Ensure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages and central medication storage.</li>
<li>Coordinate physician and other appointments for the particular shift.</li>
