Summary
We are seeking a Postpartum Therapist to join our team at New Dawn Treatment Center in Elk Grove, CA. This position helps clients navigate the emotional, social, and relationship challenges that come with having a child. They will create and implement personalized treatment plans and address a wide range of perinatal mental health concerns.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for postpartum clients and their infants.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to the postpartum client population.
- Develop and implement postpartum specific curriculum and psychoeducational materials.
- Create, review and maintain program documentation, including consents, assessments and clinical protocols specific to the postpartum program.
- Complete utilization reviews as needed for insurance authorizations.
- Provide community referrals for maternal mental health, pediatric care, lactation support, pelvic floor therapy, and other related services.
- Complete intakes, assessments, progress notes, treatment planning and discharge/transition planning.
- Record information and maintain accurate client records in EMR.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) preferred.
- Current license, ACSW, LCSW, AMFT, LMFT, APCC or LPCC, required.
- Strong understanding of trauma informed care, postpartum mental health and community resources for women and families.
- Clinical experience working with perinatal or postpartum populations preferred.
- Working knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Must have and maintain a valid California drivers license, clean driving record, and maintain personal auto insurance coverage.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
- Must have a current TB test or chest x-ray.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well and quickly under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
