The Residential College in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan <a href="http://www.rc.lsa.umich.edu/" target="_blank">http://www.rc.lsa.umich.edu/</a> is seeking applicants for a full-time Lecturer III to teach courses in the Drama Program and to serve as the head of this program. This is a full time, non-tenure track position with a university-year appointment period beginning January 1, 2024. The Residential College (RC) Drama Program (<a href="https://lsa.umich.edu/rc/current-students/curriculum/drama.html" target="_blank">https://lsa.umich.edu/rc/current-students/curriculum/drama.html</a>) offers introductory and advanced courses in the history, theory, and practice of theatre. The program offers a major and a minor, in which students learn about and practice many aspects of play production from devising and design to acting and directing. Class sizes tend to be small. The successful candidate will serve as head of this program and faculty advisor to the Drama major and teach five courses throughout the academic year (fall and winter terms). These courses will contribute primarily to the Drama Program but could also contribute to other RC programs, such as the Arts and Ideas Program (the RC humanities major) or the First-year Seminar Program (intensive writing courses that satisfy the first-year writing requirement). Additional duties include participation in college- and program-wide activities. The RC Drama Program differs from other performance programs on campus in its commitment to socially engaged theatre, social justice, and community engagement. Some courses enable students to explore theatre in collaboration with local schools, prisons, or public-housing communities. RC Drama courses often integrate textual analysis and performance practices and teach theatre history by staging previously written texts and exploring applied theatre by devising original performances. Candidates in all areas of performance research or practical theatre are welcome to apply. Administrative Responsibilities The responsibilities of the program head for the Drama Program are listed below; these extend throughout the academic year. - Hold regular meetings of the faculty in the program to review and revise the Drama major and minor. - Oversee the course offerings and curriculum management of the program each year, including review of syllabi and course descriptions. - Provide academic advising to students enrolled in the Drama major and minor. - Interact with the RC Academic Services office to coordinate advising of students in the RC Drama Program. - Advise the RC Administrative team and Executive Committee on program needs and accomplishments. - Attend meetings of the RC Curriculum Planning Committee as a representative of the Drama Program. - Serve as faculty mentor to the student organization, RC Players. Expectations The successful candidate will have expertise and background in theater performance, including acting and/or directing. Established expertise in academic disciplines and performance appropriate to the years in the candidate’s field is expected, as well as expertise and background in teaching undergraduates in a wide range of dramatic literature. Requirements Minimum: MFA in a theatre or performance field; MA in Drama, Performance Studies or Theatre Studies, or advanced degree in an interdisciplinary arts program relevant to theatre. Additional experience in directing, acting, playwriting, design or dramaturgy is preferred. University of Michigan LSA Collegiate Fellowship Program

The Arnold School of Public Health (ASPH) and the College of Nursing (CON) at the University of South Carolina (USC) invite applications for six tenure-track faculty positions as part of the inaugural NIH-funded USC FIRST FIIRRE program. The multi-year NIH FIRST (Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation) initiative intends to enhance inclusive excellence at competitively determined institutions across the United States. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing personnel; developing and managing a departmental budget; managing public relations/marketing/outreach to students, employers, and alumni; generating and providing reports on topics such as employment statistics and service usage; and providing strategic, comprehensive programming and direct services to law students and alumni to assist with their career planning and professional development.&nbsp; Service to law students and alumni includes, among others, the following activities: • Providing guidance and counseling for students and alumni. • Providing document review of job application materials for students and alumni. • Serving as instructor of record in required, credit-bearing, first-year Career Exploration course &amp; Professional Planning course. • Administering a variety of workshops and programs. • Providing library and web-based resources, including online job listings and newsletters for students. • Administering mentoring programs that match students with professionals. • Administering interview programs. • Administering alumni/student receptions in major cities in and outside of Oregon as appropriate. The Assistant Dean is a participating member of the law school’s administrative team and will be expected to plan, develop, and implement law school projects, policies, and procedures. Assistant Dean for Career Planning

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:&nbsp;The Research Associate will serve as a support person for the Entomology and Insect Ecology and Management Program, and will assist in developing, conducting, and managing field and Laboratory research for this program at Kentucky State University. &nbsp; The successful candidate will also help prepare manuscripts for publishing in journals and presenting relevant information at scientific meetings, in addition to Extension and outreach programming such as the KSU Third Thursday Sustainable Ag Workshops. &nbsp; &nbsp;

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:The successful candidate in this position will work closely with the principal investigator and be a member of a team conducting investigative field and laboratory research focusing on conservation biological control using native perennial plants to increase biodiversity of insect predators and parasitoids (i.e., natural enemies) to manage pest insects in vegetable and fruit crops. Specifically we are attracting several species of lady beetles, lacewings, big eyed bugs, minute pirate bugs, ground beetles and other predators and parasitoids of sweet corn pests to this and other crops. This position will also evaluate/develop sustainable methods of sweet corn insect pest management by conducting laboratory bioassays of flowering plants, weeds, and synthetic herbivore induced plant protection odors which may attract or repel beneficial insects.

This position involves designing and implementing, and maintaining field, laboratory, and greenhouse experiments. &nbsp;It involves setting up experiments, collecting, entering, and statistical analyses of data, assisting with development of manuscripts for publication, PowerPoints for presenting, plus training and supervising other researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates who are conducting research in the program. &nbsp;Experience operating farm machinery (ie. tractors, planters, cultivators, tine weeders, etc.) is preferred. &nbsp;Experience analyzing data using modern statistical software is essential as is fluency in all Microsoft Office Software. &nbsp;&nbsp;

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

<li>Conduct field experiments to determine attractancy of native perennial plants to predatory lady beetles, lacewings, big eyed bugs, minute pirate bugs, ground beetles and other predators and parasitoids of sweet corn, and other vegetable and fruit crop insect pests.</li>

Licensing and Certifications:&nbsp; A valid driver’s license is required. Candidate will need to earn pesticide applicators licensethrough the University of Kentucky/Kentucky State University Cooperative Extension Service.
