Join the WeCare Centers Team as a Respiratory Therapist!

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide exceptional respiratory care to residents in our skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities. In this role, you'll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation professionals to help residents breathe easier, recover more strongly, and achieve their highest level of wellness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assess residents' respiratory status and identify changes requiring intervention.

Administer respiratory therapies and treatments as prescribed, including aerosol medications, nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance therapies.

Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot oxygen delivery systems and respiratory equipment.

Manage residents requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and other non-invasive ventilation devices.

Perform pulse oximetry and other respiratory assessments as ordered.

Evaluate residents for signs of respiratory distress and respond promptly to emergencies.

Collaborate with physicians regarding respiratory care plans and treatment recommendations.

Educate residents and families on respiratory conditions, medications, oxygen safety, and equipment use.

Monitor the effectiveness of respiratory treatments and document resident responses.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Participate in admission assessments, care planning meetings, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team conferences.

Assist with infection prevention practices related to respiratory care, including equipment cleaning and isolation precautions.

Ensure oxygen cylinders, concentrators, suction equipment, and respiratory devices are properly maintained and safely stored.

Participate in emergency response efforts, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and rapid response situations within the facility.

Provide staff education regarding respiratory equipment, oxygen safety, and respiratory disease management.

Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, state regulations, and facility policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
-
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
-
Current Respiratory Therapist license in PA
-
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred
-
One or more years of experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, hospital, or pulmonary care.

Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-
Knowledge of cardiopulmonary diseases and respiratory therapy practices.

Ability to assess and recognize changes in resident respiratory status.

Proficiency in oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, suctioning, pulse oximetry, CPAP/BiPAP management, and emergency respiratory interventions.

Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to educate residents, families, and staff.

Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Commitment to resident-centered care and quality improvement.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.
-
Lift, push, pull, and move respiratory equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Assist with resident positioning and transfers as needed.

Perform repetitive movements associated with respiratory treatments.

Respond quickly to emergency situations.
