Mazak Integrex/Variaxis 5-Axis Setup Specialist
Job Description
Job DescriptionA day in your life at Acero Precision
You start your shift in our climate-controlled shop, review setup sheets, and stage tooling for a Mazak Integrex or Variaxis cell building medical components. You dial in work offsets, touch off tools, load the CNC program, and run the first-article. With micrometers and indicators in hand, you verify geometry and finish against tight GD&T callouts. A small wear offset here, a tool change there—then the process is locked in. You keep the spindle cutting, collaborate with programmers and quality, and make sure every part ships on time with zero surprises.
What you’ll handle
- Set up and operate Mazak Integrex and Variaxis 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-precision medical components
- Execute complete setups using setup sheets, tooling documentation, and detailed process instructions
- Measure and validate parts with precision inspection equipment to meet demanding tolerances
- Apply tool and wear offsets, perform safe tool changes, and verify tool condition, lengths, and locations
- Load and verify CNC programs to support both setup and production runs
- Perform first-article inspections, monitor in-process tolerances, surface finishes, and potential defects
- Conduct routine maintenance to keep machines in peak condition and minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
- Work with materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, cobalt chrome, and specialty plastics
- Partner with programmers, engineers, and quality to drive continuous improvement
