Job Description:
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing small- to medium-scale healthcare technology projects within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The role requires strong project management skills, an in depth understanding of healthcare technology management (HTM), and experience working within the VA enterprise.
The Project Manager will lead tasks throughout the full project lifecycle, including project planning, execution, stakeholder communication, risk management, and successful project delivery. The position requires coordination across clinical, technical, and administrative teams, ensuring compliance with VA and federal regulations and alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Plan, lead, and execute multiple HTM-related projects involving the Oracle Health Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) efforts within the VA healthcare system, ensuring timely and successful delivery.</li>
<li>Collaborate with EHRM stakeholders across Biomedical Engineering departments, VA medical centers, and VISN leadership to define project goals and deliverables.</li>
<li>Utilize government acquisition and procurement systems knowledge to support project execution (including One Source, ECRI, Best in Class).</li>
<li>Apply knowledge of VA procurement and clinical operations to guide technology planning and implementation.</li>
<li>Communicate project status, risks, and milestones effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including VA leadership and clinical staff.</li>
<li>Develop and present detailed project reports and presentations to a wide range of stakeholders.</li>
<li>Utilize knowledge of various HTM Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to inform project planning and tracking.</li>
<li>Integrate the use of emerging technologies, including Large Language Model (LLM) applications, to support decision-making, documentation, and process automation.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related technical discipline, or Certification as a Clinical Engineer (CCE).</li>
<li>Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment managing medical equipment or HTM programs.</li>
<li>Proven experience working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, including familiarity with VHA systems and operations.</li>
<li>Knowledge and experience working under government contracts, including VA-specific acquisition processes.</li>
<li>Knowledge and experience with Oracle Health Cerner Millennium or Electronic Health Record Modernization deployments.</li>
<li>Experience or training as a VA Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or in a similar oversight role for federal contracts.</li>
<li>Demonstrated knowledge of HTM industry tools such as One Source, ECRI, and Best in Class (BIC).</li>
<li>Understanding of federal regulatory requirements, including those from The Joint Commission (TJC) and applicable ISO standards.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, stakeholder engagement, and technical presentations.</li>
<li>Experience with a variety of HTM CMMS platforms (e.g., AEMS/MERS, Nuvolo, Maximo).</li>
<li>Familiarity with LLM tools and applications for use in documentation, analysis, or workflow support.</li>
</ul>
Eligibility Requirements:

<li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.</li>
<li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal public trust clearance.</li>
</ul>
Compensation:
Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.
Salary range: $110,000 - $125,000
