Job Summary

American Deli is looking for a motivated, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations, build a strong team, and deliver an outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, understands how to motivate employees, and is committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service.

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including staffing, inventory, financial performance, food safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop employees.
  • Create weekly work schedules based on business needs.
  • Coach team members and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional work environment.
  • Handle employee concerns and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Ensure all employees follow company policies and procedures.

Restaurant Operations

  • Oversee all daily restaurant operations.
  • Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and on time.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service standards.
  • Resolve customer complaints professionally.
  • Monitor labor costs and staffing efficiency.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly.

Food Safety & Quality

  • Enforce all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain compliance with local health department regulations.
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature controls.
  • Conduct routine cleanliness inspections throughout the restaurant.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Manage food, beverage, and supply inventory.
  • Place orders with vendors and verify deliveries.
  • Minimize food waste and control inventory shrinkage.
  • Monitor food cost and labor cost to achieve profitability goals.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Review daily sales reports and key performance metrics.
  • Prepare bank deposits and maintain cash accountability.
  • Control operating expenses while maintaining quality.
  • Assist ownership in meeting sales and profit objectives.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure every guest receives fast, friendly service.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a clean, welcoming dining environment.
