Job Description

Our client is seeking a mid‑senior Electrical Engineer to provide Tier 2 technical support for field operations across multiple industrial facilities. This role centers on troubleshooting medium‑ and low‑voltage electrical systems, supporting maintenance and outage activities, reviewing engineering documentation, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards. The engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, and contractor teams to resolve issues, improve reliability, and maintain safe, compliant electrical infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is an experienced industrial power systems engineer with hands‑on expertise in medium‑ and low‑voltage equipment, strong NEC knowledge, and the ability to interpret electrical drawings and support field operations. Success in this role requires comfort working in dynamic industrial environments, coordinating contractors, and traveling to multiple sites as needed.

Work Schedule: Hybrid | (On‑site 4 days/week; Remote Fridays)

Travel: Up to 25% within Texas & Louisiana

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee third‑party contractors performing electrical work.
  • Support electrical inspections, outage planning, and maintenance activities.
  • Review and update electrical drawings, one‑lines, and as‑built documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable industry standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform electrical reviews of Management of Change (MOC) packages and work plans.
  • Develop and support condition‑based maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and support operational reliability.
  • Provide Tier‑2 technical support for field operations, including troubleshooting MV/LV electrical distribution systems.
  • Diagnose issues involving Motor Control Centers (MCCs), transformers, switchgear, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Review arc‑flash studies, short‑circuit analyses, and protective device coordination; assist in implementing corrective actions.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering documentation tools.
  • Experience supporting field operations, maintenance teams, or plant environments.
  • Hands‑on experience troubleshooting MV/LV distribution systems, MCCs, transformers, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Minimum 4 years of industrial electrical engineering experience in natural gas, petrochemical, refining, LNG, midstream, or similar heavy‑industrial environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • FE/EIT certification.
  • Experience with electrical inspection programs.
  • Exposure to project management or contractor coordination.
  • Experience working within structured safety, compliance, and MOC workflows.
  • Familiarity with arc‑flash, short‑circuit, or protective‑device study software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower)

Work Environment:

  • Work may involve industrial plant environments requiring PPE and adherence to strict safety protocols.
