Job DescriptionProduction/Equipment Engineer
Salary Range: $70,000-$95,000/year
Direct Hire
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production standards.
Analyze product requirements and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability.
Research and evaluate new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing technologies to improve operational efficiency.
Plan workflow, optimize equipment layout, and improve facility utilization to maximize production output.
Develop and validate manufacturing methods, process controls, and testing procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime and improve process reliability.
Analyze production data, labor utilization, material consumption, and manufacturing costs to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare reports, process documentation, and engineering analyses by collecting, interpreting, and summarizing production data.
Support new product introductions by developing manufacturing processes, validating equipment, and assisting with production ramp-up.
Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment reliability and minimize production interruptions.
Train and provide technical guidance to production technicians and operators on manufacturing processes, equipment, and best practices.
Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve overall operational performance.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality management systems, safety regulations, and applicable governmental requirements.
Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
Experience working in the printing, label manufacturing, RFID, packaging, or converting industry preferred.
Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations preferred.
Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and process optimization.
Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
Knowledge of quality systems, process validation, and statistical analysis.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
