Quality Control Inspector
Job Summary:
Maintains quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production and finished products; records quality results.
Manages calibration system for company-wide list of measurement tools.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspects incoming materials, in-process production and finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; determines pass or fail status and reports findings to established team for disposition instructions. Carries out disposition instructions to achieve “passing” products.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizes re-work results.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and use of proper PPE.
- Accomplishes Organization’s Quality Policy by completing related tasks as needed.
- Ability to carry-out requests designed to keep tools in calibration for the company.
- Involved in the communication and closure of all non-conforming product. Maintains control of all non-conforming products until disposition is obtained.
Job Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret detailed, close-tolerance Machined Part Drawings/Schematics and apply appropriate inspection techniques to verify conformance to the Spec.
- Ability to read and interpret multiple Manual Gages (i.e. Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height and Depth Gages, Gage Pins, Johansson Blocks etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret Dial Indicators, Digital Readouts and Graduated Vernier Scales
- Ability to work overtime and weekends, if required. (Very minimal).
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Preferences
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and Y14.5M Standard GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and appropriate Inspection Techniques, or willingness to learn/be trained.
- Experience with ISO, MDNs (Non-conforming reports), CMMs and Optical Comparators.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends if required.
