Position: eDiscovery Technical Project Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract
Location: Federal Government Agency in Washington, DC (On-site required)
Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced eDiscovery Technical Project Manager to support a Federal Government agency by leading complex litigation support and eDiscovery initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing technical litigation support projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality project management services in accordance with federal standards and Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices.

This position requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with expertise in eDiscovery technologies, litigation support operations, and information governance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, maintain, and manage comprehensive project plans and schedules in accordance with established government policies and procedures.
  • Deliver project management services aligned with agency requirements and industry best practices.
  • Support continuous process improvement by recommending enhancements to project management policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Organize, lead, and manage project staff to achieve mission objectives, project milestones, and performance goals.
  • Assist Government Project Managers with developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules and implementation plans.
  • Manage projects using PMI methodologies while ensuring compliance with agency-specific requirements.
  • Identify project risks and issues, maintain risk and issue tracking logs, recommend mitigation strategies, and facilitate timely resolution.
  • Provide project management support for automated litigation support and eDiscovery initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver required project management documentation and governance deliverables.
  • Review and update data collection templates quarterly to reflect changes in the technical and operational environment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and information security requirements.
  • Notify the Government of new or changing security and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic security and compliance reports.
  • Support application security assessments, audits, audit remediation efforts, and issue closure activities.
  • Recommend innovative approaches to improve project delivery, operational efficiency, and organizational processes.
  • Communicate project status, risks, milestones, and accomplishments to Government stakeholders and project teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and significant relevant experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory and management experience supporting major litigation support or eDiscovery projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex, high-priority litigation support and technical data processing initiatives simultaneously.
  • Expert knowledge of litigation support operations and eDiscovery best practices.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and client communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Proven ability to anticipate litigation support requirements and develop comprehensive implementation plans.
  • Experience working within Government data processing environments, including office automation systems, network environments, and enterprise applications.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies:
    • Relativity Server
    • RelOne
    • Oracle
    • Nuix
    • Axiom
    • Trial Director
    • Other enterprise document review platforms
  • Familiarity with Electronically Stored Information (ESI) processing tools and eDiscovery workflows.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, document management platforms, imaging technologies, and document review systems.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD), master's degree, technical certification, or other relevant graduate degree.
  • Experience conducting complex searches, creating Search Term Reports (STRs), developing coding layouts, supervising document review teams, and managing review workflows in Relativity or RelOne.
  • Knowledge of legal procedures related to the collection, preservation, and handling of seized electronic evidence.
  • Experience managing document review projects exceeding 1 million records.
  • Knowledge of large-scale enterprise IT environments and cloud-based systems.
  • Familiarity with digital forensics principles, methodologies, and technologies.
