Position Summary
The Donor Care Specialist is responsible for organizing, recruiting, and collecting blood donations through programs designed to meet the needs of the hospital. This role ensures donor safety, regulatory compliance, and service excellence while supporting both onsite and offsite blood collection initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Care &amp; Phlebotomy
<ul>
<li>Perform donor screening to determine eligibility in accordance with Client's, CDC, FDA, AABB, and CAP standards.</li>
<li>Perform whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures.</li>
<li>Conduct blood collections at both the donor center and offsite blood drives.</li>
<li>Obtain appropriate blood specimens from donors and patients.</li>
</ul>
Processing, Documentation &amp; Compliance
<ul>
<li>Prepare and label blood components and samples for testing.</li>
<li>Accurately document donor records, deferrals, and data entry in the computer system.</li>
<li>Ensure all quality control standards are met.</li>
<li>Maintain thorough knowledge of departmental and hospital policies, including fire and disaster plans.</li>
</ul>
Inventory, Safety &amp; Operations
<ul>
<li>Perform daily inventory and replenish donor care supplies as needed.</li>
<li>Communicate supply needs to the Supervisor or designee.</li>
<li>Maintain clean, sanitary, and clutter-free work areas to ensure safety.</li>
</ul>
Service Excellence &amp; Support
<ul>
<li>Assist with donor recruitment activities.</li>
<li>Consistently provide service excellence to patients, donors, families, visitors, volunteers, and coworkers.</li>
<li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li>

Education, Experience &amp; Certifications
Donor Care Specialist I

<li>High School Diploma or GED required</li>
<li>Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English</li>
<li>Prior phlebotomy experience required</li>
<li>National certification or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred</li>
<li>BLS Certification required</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills</li>

What You'll Do:

Assemble sub-assemblies consisting of printed circuit boards with applicable components. Complete electro-mechanical units using sub-assemblies, air tools, and miscellaneous parts.
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Assemble printed circuit boards by inserting applicable components in through-hole fashion using specific work instructions, procedures, and various hand and air tools.</li>
<li>Install sub-assemblies and miscellaneous hardware into specific unit enclosures at a final assembly level using specific work instructions, procedures, and various hand and air tools.</li>
<li>Conduct electrical function tests at both printed circuit board and final assembly levels using test fixtures provided by electrical engineering.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required, including packing.</li>
</ul>
Essential Skills
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 4 months of production work experience.</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 26 pounds.</li>
<li>Experience as an assembler is a plus.</li>
<li>Must be able to stand at a workstation for over 8 hours.</li>
</ul>

<li>High School Diploma or GED.</li>
<li>Electro-mechanical aptitude is desirable.</li>

Work Environment
This position is within a fast-paced production work area with tight quarters. Eye protection and protective shoes are mandatory, and loose clothing is prohibited. The role requires standing for extended periods and involves working in a basic production area with stringent deadlines.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Responsibilities include:

<li>Making visits to clients in their homes</li>
<li>Perform diagnostic tests and measurements, such as the mobility/range of joints, transfer status, stability, patterns and appearance of ambulation, strength and endurance of muscles, balance testing and safety assessments.</li>
<li>Implement integumentary protective interventions to prevent wound formation and promote wound repair utilizing evidence-based dressings and topical agents.</li>
<li>Develop and implement appropriate individualized care plans, including manual therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance and other interventions. </li>
<li>Continually assess and revise the Physical Therapy care plan and participate with nursing in the multidisciplinary care plan, as appropriate. </li>
<li>Educate and instruct clients, family members or other client representatives, in rehabilitative care and activities necessary to promote the client's health, safety and independent living. </li>
<li>Accurately document observations, interventions and evaluations pertaining to client care management and services provided, utilizing a touch pad tablet.</li>

Qualifications include:

What Your Week Looks Like
