Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is currently seeking drivers with a CDL Class A license to join our team, driving our Flatbed and other vehicles. This will be a full-time role. This position reports to the Grading &amp; Pipe Site Foreman.

Summary
 
Performs a variety of duties relating to equipment and other materiel distribution activities and requires a CDL-A license.
 
Duties
 
<ul>
<li>Receives, routes, and moves equipment and construction material.</li>
<li>May identify, inspect, and segregate equipment or material as it is received for obvious damage and needed repairs.</li>
<li>Determines appropriate handling methods and devices needed to move items.</li>
<li>Prepares and processes all necessary paperwork and dispatches.</li>
<li>Ensures accountability, completes logbooks, maintenance records, reports, and other transportation documents for accurate accounting.</li>
<li>Determines proper identification, marking, labeling, and inclusion of shipping documents and special handling instructions on all shipments.</li>
<li>Assists the Foreman as required in actions such as determining freight shipping requirements consistent with efficiency and transportation priorities.</li>
<li>Analyzes and interprets technical transportation requirements.</li>
<li>Maneuvers vehicles within close tolerances when driving and backing over uneven ground, in narrow or congested areas, between buildings, and other vehicles when positioning vehicles at loading docks.</li>
<li>Operates vehicles on interstate highways, winding roads, and steep grades and manipulates the dual braking system to prevent the truck from jackknifing.</li>
<li>Ensures cargo is properly loaded, distributed, and secured.</li>
<li>Transports items that are bulky and unwieldy utilizing appropriate load balance and adequate protection for items.</li>
<li>Occasionally drives over rough surfaces.</li>
<li>Picks up items from job sites, local vendors, and suppliers.</li>
<li>Checks routine maintenance items on assigned vehicles such as oil, tire pressure, windshield washer fluids, power steering fluids, and gas as per required preventive maintenance guidance.</li>
<li>Keeps assigned vehicle in good appearance and assures it is in top-notch condition for periodic vehicle inspections.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>

Work Environment:

<li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving and mechanical parts and equipment.</li>
<li>The noise level in the work environment can be loud.</li>

<li>Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current</li>
<li>Implement cycle counting and/or annual physical inventories using inventory system reports, inventory software and count sheets to ensure inventory accuracy</li>
<li>Manage team member tasks and responsibilities to receive, store, and load food products and support goods in accordance with established company standards and procedures and within budgeted guidelines and dispatch accuracy goals</li>
<li>Control departmental cost and prepare budget for Director review</li>
<li>Compile the warehouse portion of the weekly key indicator summary, and other statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis</li>
<li>Oversee and identify items that can be recycled</li>
<li>Maintain safe and positive work environment in compliance with OSHA, company standards, local, state, and federal requirements</li>
<li>Recognize potential problems and respond accordingly</li>
<li>Inspect warehouse equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and in good condition</li>
<li>Oversee housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area</li>
<li>Ensure department is always audit and 5’s ready</li>
<li>Visit stores to monitor the quality of the product</li>

Manage Warehouse and Warehouse Sanitation Team Members
<ul>
<li>Coach team members that are not meeting their performance goals, and reward team members for good performance, complete performance appraisals on team members</li>
<li>Facilitate a five-minute team member meeting each day to keep the team member informed of safety precautions, performance, policies, etc.</li>
<li>Recruit, interview, hire and train all new team members in various trainings, including safety, and minimize team member turnover</li>
<li>Responsible for warehouse safety, and accuracy</li>
<li>Review time clock punches edit missing punches and approve PTO request</li>
<li>As needed, fills in as warehouse team member and performs tasks necessary to meet warehouse goals (these activities do not exceed 20% of total work time)</li>
<li>Maintain positive customer relations</li>
<li>Direct salvage of damaged or used material</li>
<li>Attend Leadership &amp; Development training sessions</li>
<li>Verify and validate timecards and manage working schedule</li>
<li>Validate and verify contracts</li>
<li>Validate and verify account payables</li>
<li>Maintain warehouse supplies for daily needs and order supplies as needed</li>
<li>Work with temp agencies</li>
<li>Rapid decision making and deliberate planning for warehouse growth</li>
<li>Mentoring team members</li>
<li>Maintain a working relationship with COE departments, i.e., talent acquisition, finance, quality assurance, and safety</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Director</li>
</ul>
Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in distribution, warehouse, logistics, retail, or transportation. Some college plus equivalent work experience may be accepted. Preferably in the food, warehouse, manufacturing, or retail industry</li>
<li>3-5 years of warehouse experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or retail environment</li>
<li>3-5 years of supervisory experience</li>
<li>Proven ability to develop and lead team members in meeting goals and objectives</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail</li>
<li>Proactive and results oriented demeanor</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations</li>
<li>Knowledge of asset management procedures, and information used to optimize inventory levels and/or fill rates</li>
<li>Solid experience in Microsoft Office</li>
<li>Ability to work a full-time/flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays</li>
<li>Willingness to support a 24-hour operation, and be on call, including carrying an emergency cell phone as needed</li>
<li>Proven experience in quality and safety</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and follow-through skills</li>
<li>Maintain forklift certification</li>
<li>Availability to travel, as needed</li>
<li>Must successfully pass a background checks every third year on your anniversary date</li>
</ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>Must be able to lift 50 lbs., perform heavy pushing/pulling of product, work in refrigerated conditions [33-38 degrees], extreme heat, and work in environment with exposure to loud machinery, when necessary</li>
<li>Must be able to work around yeast and flour</li>
