Job Summary
Typical workdays include team meetings, planning for each customer visit, and using company trucks/tools to service, calibrate, and repair a customer's weighing equipment. We provide service to a broad range of industrial customers, working both indoors and outdoors on equipment with attention to detail. When you join our team as a Field Service Scale Technician, you start out by completing a hands-on onboarding program focused on the fundamentals of the scale technician trade. In addition to completing the necessary training requirements, you also take part in a mentorship program while first working in the field. When you successfully complete all requirements of your onboarding program, you will become a Certified Scale Technician. From there, you may advance into more senior technician levels. There are also opportunities to evolve into other areas of the business, such as IT systems data networking, sales, or customer support.
 
Job Requirements
Successfully complete the scale technician onboarding program, which includes training/mentoring to learn:

<li>Fundamentals of the scale technician trade and our professional expectations.</li>
<li>Scale products and mechanical/electrical components in the scale industry.</li>
<li>How to use company vehicles, specialized equipment, and tools to service, calibrate and repair a customer’s weighing equipment</li>
<li>On-the-job skills to support our customers.</li>
<li>Attend regular meetings with your manager and mentor to track learning progress.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean and professional attitude and image.</li>
<li>Complete and adhere to all assigned safety training.</li>
<li>Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License Class B (CDL B)</li>
<li>Pass a final exam to advance to a Certified Scale Technician (CST).</li>

Minimum Qualifications

This is a combined job description for a Field Service Technician cross trained in all scopes; firestopping, doors, and dampers. 
Duties/Responsibilities:
Firestopping 
<ul>
<li>Inspect &amp; repair fire/smoke barriers per NFPA/IBC/UL requirements.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and life safety drawings.</li>
<li>Document inspection and repair results in electronic reporting system using a tablet. </li>
<li>Provide accurate and detailed documentation for customers’ code compliance.</li>
<li>Document repairs that cannot be completed, obtain and record specifications for materials to be ordered. </li>
<li>Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing components. </li>
<li>Install access doors in rated assemblies.</li>

<li>Installation and repair of wall assemblies. (Metal Framing &amp; Repair if Gypsum and Masonry Construction)</li>

<li>Provide accurate documentation for customers’ code compliance and reporting. </li>
<li>Maintain professional, timely communication with customers and Remedi8 management and team. </li>

Doors 
<ul>
<li>Inspection of fire-rated and smoke doors per NFPA 80. </li>
<li>Successfully complete Remedi8’s training for Fire Door Inspection as outlined in Remed8’s ISO 17020:2012 certification requirements.  </li>
<li>Ensure completion of accurate reports for customer code compliance.  </li>
<li>Maintain professional, timely communication with customers prior to and following projects.  </li>
<li>Perform minor repair of fire door frames, doors, locksets, latches, closers, strike plates, miscellaneous door and frame hardware and material to bring up to code requirements. </li>
<li>Perform repairs in ordinance with NFPA 80, NFPA 105 and the IBC standards for fire door performance. </li>
<li>Fill holes in frames/doors. </li>
<li>Shim to correct clearances. </li>
<li>Clean/install closers and hardware to fix latching and closing issues. </li>
<li>Establish plan of action for door replacement through facilities in a time efficient manner. </li>

Requirements and Preferred Experience: 
Firestop 
<ul>
<li>1 + year of firestop inspection, repair, and installation</li>

<li>Fire caulking experience</li>

<li>Understanding of iOS products and electronic reporting.</li>
<li>Experience with life safety plans and NFPA.</li>
<li>Hilti and STI certification preferred but not required. </li>

Dampers

Qualifications of a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer:
<ul>
<li>A Professional Engineering license in OH (other Midwest states a plus)</li>
<li>A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering</li>
<li>Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation (including OpenRoads), AutoCAD (including Civil 3D)</li>

• Perform new build walkout or as-built mapping.
• Follow guidelines to provide detailed accurate route of existing or new build plant.
• Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.
• Obtain the correct field information, record verification, document all details for aerial and underground telecommunications including fiber, coax, poles, pedestals, and more.

• 2+ years of cable mapping experience within the CATV industry is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the fielding process with hands on experience in CATV asbuilt and new build walkouts.
• Knowledge of cable design and basic OSP construction practices of cable systems.
• Permitting experience in telecommunications such as: right of way (ROW), pole, railroad, and government agency permitting is preferred.
• Able to read and interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams associated with CATV projects.
