This full-time, onsite contract opportunity offers you the chance to guide general education students—with possible interaction with SPED students (who will receive dedicated support)—as they explore and excel in mathematics. Responsibilities in this role include designing and delivering lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards, leveraging formative assessment, and applying differentiated instruction to address varied learning needs. Confidence in classroom and behavioral management is vital, as well as collaborating effectively with peers and support staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated mastery of mathematics instruction and relevant curriculum materials
- Active certification or licensure applicable to the teaching assignment
- Bachelor’s degree (required for an emergency teaching permit)
- Prior school-based teaching experience, particularly in an urban environment
- Ability to fulfill all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
- Comfortable working between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, without scheduling accommodations
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Familiarity and comfort with the district setting
