Passionate about supporting students with unique needs and ready to make a meaningful impact during the 2026–2027 school year? Contract positions are available for Autism Support Interventionists (ASI) and Emotional Support Interventionists (ESI) to work hands-on with students in highly structured classrooms. Opportunities in Carbon and Lehigh Counties begin August 10, 2026, with assignments following the school calendar. Regular school hours resume in late August, and varied classroom placements are available. Assignments require in-person interviews.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field preferred (Associate’s degree considered with at least one year of relevant experience; three years preferred)
- Hands-on experience supporting children or adolescents with autism, behavioral/emotional disabilities, behavioral health, ABA, or in settings such as special education classrooms, residential treatment, or mental health programs
- Skilled in behavior management and crisis prevention, with a calm and consistent approach to challenging behaviors
- Familiarity with evidence-based strategies, including applied behavior analysis, de-escalation, trauma-informed practices, and positive reinforcement
- Reliable, collaborative, and professional, with strong documentation and communication abilities
- Must be able to support students with significant behavioral and emotional needs, including providing personal care when necessary
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, implementing behavior plans and educational strategies
- Foster daily routines, transitions, communication, and social skills
- Collect and maintain behavioral and academic data for IEP progress monitoring
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, counselors, and behavioral health staff
- Respond calmly and effectively to behavioral escalations, ensuring a therapeutic and safe learning environment
Assignment Details:
- 32.5–35 hours per week, school-year contract positions
- Roles available in Northwestern Lehigh, ALAS, and CLAS settings
- Must provide a completed role supervisor reference check as part of your application
