Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic cycle. This full-time contract opportunity spans the school year from July 29th through May 21st, 2027, including pre-planning days. You'll be making a meaningful impact in an inclusive elementary classroom, guiding a caseload of approximately 8-10 students ranging primarily from first to second grade, with a few kindergartners.
Your classroom will welcome students with a variety of learning and developmental profiles, including autism, significant developmental delays, speech/language challenges, self-regulation needs, and learning disabilities. While toileting or diapering is not generally required, one student may need supervision for changing due to a toileting-related goal.
To excel in this role, you must have:
- An active GaPSC Teaching license
- P-12 Special Education endorsement
- Dyslexia endorsement
Your duties will include:
- Creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique abilities
- Collaborating with general education teachers in an inclusion setting to foster accessible learning experiences
- Providing direct instruction and intervention aligned with students’ goals
- Monitoring progress and communicating with families to ensure continuous support
- Supervising and assisting with non-academic needs as required for full student support
