Job Description
Step into a meaningful role making a difference in students’ lives as an Autism or Emotional Support Interventionist for the 2026–2027 school year. Assignments begin August 10, 2026, and follow the school calendar with opening day and summer hours prior to full resumption in late August. These contract positions are based in classrooms near Whitehall, PA, serving students with significant behavioral, emotional, and communication needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Human Services, or related field preferred (Associate’s with relevant experience considered)
- At least one year of experience supporting children or adolescents impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional/behavioral disabilities, ABA, or special education (three years preferred)
- Familiarity with implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and trauma-informed/behavioral interventions
- Resilience and composure when managing aggression, emotional escalation, or crisis behaviors
- Proven teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary staff
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and group support to students as directed by education and behavioral teams
- Use evidence-based strategies (visual supports, AAC, structured routines, behavior reinforcement)
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and highly structured classroom environment
- Track behavioral and academic data for IEP progress
- Support students’ daily care needs, including personal hygiene, mobility, and communication
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and counselors to adapt approaches and ensure student progress
