Multiple contract opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year, supporting specialized programs in autism support, multiple disabilities, and emotional support classrooms across Lehigh County. Assignments are within a 35-minute commute of the surrounding area, running from August 10, 2026, to June 11, 2027, following the local school calendar.
Desired Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania Special Education certification (preferred or required, depending on assignment)
- Proven classroom teaching experience in special education
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEP goals
- Proficiency in classroom management and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in one or more of the following: autism programming, multiple disabilities support, emotional support, behavioral health, IU/specialized school settings
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and foster an inclusive classroom environment for students with varying academic, behavioral, communication, and developmental needs
- Implement evidence-based interventions, sensory regulation strategies, and behavior intervention plans as appropriate to assignment
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support students’ developmental and educational progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in alignment with IEP goals and state regulations
- Employ trauma-informed and crisis-prevention strategies to ensure student safety and emotional well-being
