The Day Services Life Skills Instructor provides services to individuals with autism and other intellectual disabilities in the Community Integration Center (CIC) and in the community. Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Reviews all incoming treatment and imaging orders from providers.</li>
<li>Prioritizes incoming authorization requests according to urgency.</li>
<li>Obtains accurate authorization via payer website or by phone.</li>
<li>Follows up regularly on pending cases, and informs provider timely of pending case.</li>
<li>Accurately documents all information pertaining to authorizations.</li>
<li>Maintains individual payer files to include up to date requirements needed to successfully obtain authorizations.</li>
<li>Confirms accuracy of CPT and ICD-10 diagnoses in the treatment/imaging order. </li>
<li>Contacts patients to discuss authorization status. </li>
<li>Schedules peer to peer reviews as needed with appropriate provider.</li>
<li>Appeals any denials according to payer requirements.</li>
<li>Answers billing department phone calls.</li>
<li>Maintains regular and punctual attendance.</li>
<li>Complies with all practice policies and procedures including CCAY’s Code of Conduct.</li>

Requirements:

Your Role as an Instructional Coach:

Establish a collaborative coaching approach that supports the implementation of research-based, student-centered instructional practices.

Assist teachers through co-teaching, observation, dialogue, and lesson modeling to promote reflective practice, improve instruction, and enhance student learning outcomes.

Support curriculum alignment by helping teachers plan and teach with core and subject area standards, adopted materials, and appropriate assessments.

Required Qualifications:

<li>Bachelor's or master’s degree in special education, or related field</li>
<li>Current, valid PA Instructional II Special Education certification</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years teaching in a special education classroom</li>
<li>Must be an experienced, high accomplished, and well-respected educator</li>
<li>Must have the ability to efficiently manage several roles, and the skills needed to work one-on-one with teachers, as well as to oversee a wider staff development effort in the school</li>
<li>Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with child, parent/guardian, multidisciplinary team members, and other personnel involved in child’s educational program</li>
