What You’ll Do:

Elementary School Lead Teacher Job Description
 
The elementary school classroom lead teacher is one of the primary stakeholders who influence the lives of children at Global Citizens PCS. Lead teachers will foster a student-centered learning environment that respects the culture and identity of each and every child so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. In early childhood, our children learn all content areas in the target language for approximately 90% of the school day, and they learn their early literacy and math skills in English for approximately 10% of the school day. In elementary school (Kindergarten through 5th grade), we use a 50/50 model, where our children receive standards-based instruction (aligned to the Common Core State Standards) in reading, writing, math, and science in the target language for 50% of the time and in English for 50% of the time (each day). The lead English teacher will teach all content areas in English. All teachers will work collaboratively to positively impact student development by creating a warm and inviting learning environment; building relationships with students and families; creatively designing and implementing effective lessons within a free and liberating classroom environment; analyzing and interpreting data; collaborating professionally with colleagues; and, participating in the larger school-wide community. SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
Definition
Under general supervision of the Director of IEP Assessment, the incumbent is responsible in supporting the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional development of students with moderate to severe disabilities. This position involves conducting comprehensive assessments, providing consultation and intervention support, and collaborating closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
In accordance with the federal wage-hour laws, this is a salaried position and is not subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act’s (FLSA) minimum wage and overtime pay requirements.
Other Performance Measures:
Successful performance on the job requires following safety guidelines and policies to reduce accident or injury to self or students, school dress standards, proper attendance and leave policies and compliance with other policies set forth in the Employee Handbook. Creativity, initiative and effective problem solving is also important to the success of the incumbent. Attend and participate in weekly team, staff and development meetings; read and accept responsibility for weekly staff notes and all policies and procedures. Complete all paperwork accurately and timely. Perform bus duty detail as assigned. Support the overall school mission through volunteer opportunities and contribute to the smooth operation of the school day.

Assessment &amp; Evaluation

<li>Conduct comprehensive psychological, cognitive, and behavioral evaluations for students.</li>
<li>Compile clear, thorough, and accessible evaluation reports aligned with IDEA requirements.</li>
<li>Present and interpret assessment results during MDT/IEP meetings with families and school teams.</li>
<li>Collect and analyze data through records reviews, observations, interviews, and standardized testing tools.</li>
<li>Ensure timely submission of reports and upload all documentation to PowerSchool Special Programs.</li>
<li>Participate in parent conferences and eligibility determination discussions.</li>

Minimum Acceptable Education and Experience:
· Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology from an accredited college or university.
· Must hold or be eligible for a DC School Service Provider License with an endorsement in School Psychology.
· National certification (NCSP – Nationally Certified School Psychologist) preferred but not required.
· Completion of an accredited internship or practicum in a school setting preferred.

 Position Summary:
The Certified Teaching position will assist OCC shelter residents with maintaining their assigned public-school grade level while improving social and life skills necessary to be successful in school and in the community. Standardized academic assessments of youth will guide scholastic initiatives, physical education and remediation activities provided. Program goals are to improve student's academic performance, enhance their knowledge regarding the world of work, provide health and nutrition information, and to expand awareness of world community through hands-on enrichment opportunities. Program goals and funding are determined by Hot Springs School District in compliance with Title I-Part D Services through Arkansas Department of Education.
 Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and coordinate an overall educational enrichment program for shelter residents during the school year. • Assess youth at intake and each 20 days in reading and math utilizing the APEX website. • Maintain sign-in sheet as documentation of each class period. • Maintain behavior progress notes on each youth's behavior during the education programs. • Work closely with Youth Advocates who provide additional assistance during class time.
 QUALIFICATIONS • Teaching Certificate Required, prefer K-12 or 5-9 grades, special education a plus. • Pass a drug screen and maintain current TB card. • Must have a current Arkansas Driver's license and insurable under OCC's commercial vehicle insurance policy. • Must receive child maltreatment clearance through the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry. • Must receive adult maltreatment clearance through the Arkansas Protective Services-Adult Maltreatment Central Registry. • Must receive Arkansas State Police criminal background clearance as mandated by Arkansas Department of Human Services, Minimum Licensing Standards for Child Welfare Agencies.
