Step into a vital, hands-on role supporting students in specialized educational settings for the 2026–2027 school year. As an Autism Support Interventionist (ASI) or Emotional Support Interventionist (ESI), you'll play an important part in helping students reach their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals within structured classrooms. These contract-based positions begin August 10, 2026, with assignments located across Carbon and Lehigh County. Openings are first-come, first-served and require in-person interviews.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Social Behavior, Human Services, or related field preferred; Associate’s considered with at least one year of relevant experience (three years preferred)
- Experience with children/adolescents with Autism, behavioral/emotional disabilities, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavioral health, or similar settings
- Strong behavioral management and de-escalation skills
- Calm, consistent approach to challenging behaviors
- Professionalism, reliability, collaboration, and strong documentation/communication abilities
- Ability to collect behavioral and academic data
- Must submit: full name, commuting city, a completed supervisor reference check, resume with relevant experience, a bullet-pointed summary showcasing skills, and confirmation that you are comfortable with the assignment's requirements
What You’ll Do:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with autism or emotional/behavioral needs
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and trauma-informed strategies
- Use evidence-based tools and supports, including communication devices, social stories, and visual schedules
- Assist with daily routines, academic tasks, transitions, and personal care when necessary
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and behavioral specialists
