Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher focusing on students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work onsite supporting a dedicated group of up to nine students in a school committed to providing inclusive, high-quality education.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals for students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities.
- Foster a positive, structured classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure seamless educational experiences.
- Collect data and document student progress, making informed adjustments to instruction as needed.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with parents and team members.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification, Tier 3 or Tier 4, in Special Education (required).
- Experience working with students with significant developmental or cognitive needs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a small caseload and adapt instruction effectively.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
Key Details:
- Contract runs approximately from late August 2026 to early June 2027.
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, with 37.5 hours per week (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; 30-minute unpaid lunch).
- School-based setting, collaborating in person with students, staff, and families.
- Candidates must attach a current Minnesota Teaching Certification and resume to be considered.
