Elementary School Lead Teacher Job Description
 
The elementary school classroom lead teacher is one of the primary stakeholders who influence the lives of children at Global Citizens PCS. Lead teachers will foster a student-centered learning environment that respects the culture and identity of each and every child so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. In early childhood, our children learn all content areas in the target language for approximately 90% of the school day, and they learn their early literacy and math skills in English for approximately 10% of the school day. In elementary school (Kindergarten through 5th grade), we use a 50/50 model, where our children receive standards-based instruction (aligned to the Common Core State Standards) in reading, writing, math, and science in the target language for 50% of the time and in English for 50% of the time (each day). The lead English teacher will teach all content areas in English. All teachers will work collaboratively to positively impact student development by creating a warm and inviting learning environment; building relationships with students and families; creatively designing and implementing effective lessons within a free and liberating classroom environment; analyzing and interpreting data; collaborating professionally with colleagues; and, participating in the larger school-wide community. Dynamis is seeking a Classification Specialist to be responsible for performing a full range of technical and administrative human resources management services relating to classification. Technical experts will also assist the Workforce Planning Division in the implementation of a new initiative to create models that will assess the workload and resources needed with Administrative, Professional and Technical staff.
Responsibilities:

<li>Provide Subject Matter expertise on organizational design and structure, Federal job position classification, position management, compensation administration, Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) coverage, and the adjudication of employee appeals (i.e., on job grading, Position Descriptions (PD).</li>
<li>Conduct detailed review of all components of a PD to include the designations of the FLSA, Bargaining Unit (BU) eligibility, and Position Sensitivity.</li>
<li>Update Offer Form (OF) 8 and PD Record (PDR).</li>
<li>Review report of active PDs and moves old PDs into archived folder; conduct position audits; meet with leadership and draft PDs.</li>

Founded in 2019 by Toby Cubitt, Ashley Montanaro and John Morton, we are based in London and Bristol in the UK and opened an office in Washington DC in 2024, led by Steve Flammia. Phasecraft’s unprecedented access to today’s best quantum computers – through partnerships with Google, IBM, Quantinuum and QuEra – provides us with unique opportunities to develop foundational IP, inform the development of next-generation quantum hardware, and accelerate commercialization of high-value breakthroughs.
We are delighted to launch our 2026 Quantum Applications Internship programme. As a Quantum Applications Intern you will have the opportunity to join the Phasecraft team for a few (typically 3) months. Not only will you work on a technical research project focusing on the design, implementation or analysis of quantum algorithms and related techniques in near-term quantum computing, but you will also have the chance to experience life in a young and vibrant startup that is constantly pushing the boundaries of our knowledge of quantum computing. Past projects have ranged from theoretical work on the underpinning mathematics of quantum algorithms to writing code for real or simulated quantum hardware.
Our recent internship programmes have proven to be meaningful and successful. In 2022 we hired our first permanent staff member who had previously participated in our Internship programme and we have several ongoing collaborations with former interns. Some of the work undertaken during internships has also been published (Optimizing fermionic encodings for both Hamiltonian and hardware and Extracting the spin excitation spectrum of a fermionic system using a quantum processor). Our team has enjoyed working on challenging projects with talented interns with diverse academic backgrounds including Quantum Information Theory, Materials Science, Physics and Computer Science.
The internship is a paid position with a competitive salary. Interns are based with the Phasecraft team in our offices in Bristol and London in the UK and Washington DC in the US. Internships usually take place over the summer months, though dates can be flexible.
As a Quantum Applications Intern, we expect you to have a demonstrable and keen interest in quantum computing and its application to chemical and materials simulation. You should have experience in electronic structure methods and interest in method development for strongly correlated systems, direct experience in quantum computing is beneficial but not essential. Most previous interns have been undertaking a PhD on the theory of quantum computing or in a relevant area such as Material Science or Computer Science, but we will also consider former PhD students who are not currently enrolled in an academic programme.

Global Citizens PCS is the first dual language immersion elementary school in Washington, DC, to offer language immersion in both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish pathways - exposing students to the top three languages spoken in the world. Elementary School Lead Teacher Job Description
 
The elementary school classroom lead teacher is one of the primary stakeholders who influence the lives of children at Global Citizens PCS. Lead teachers will foster a student-centered learning environment that respects the culture and identity of each and every child so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. In early childhood, our children learn all content areas in the target language for approximately 90% of the school day, and they learn their early literacy and math skills in English for approximately 10% of the school day. In elementary school (Kindergarten through 5th grade), we use a 50/50 model, where our children receive standards-based instruction (aligned to the Common Core State Standards) in reading, writing, math, and science in the target language for 50% of the time and in English for 50% of the time (each day). The lead English teacher will teach all content areas in English. All teachers will work collaboratively to positively impact student development by creating a warm and inviting learning environment; building relationships with students and families; creatively designing and implementing effective lessons within a free and liberating classroom environment; analyzing and interpreting data; collaborating professionally with colleagues; and, participating in the larger school-wide community.
