Your Role as a Special Education Paraprofessional:

<li>Provide Classroom Support - Assist students with academics, social skills, and daily living needs while adapting to all age groups, elementary through high school</li>
<li>Monitor &amp; Track Student Progress - Observe behavior, document notes, and share updates with the team to adjust strategies.</li>
<li>Support Self-Help Skills - Help students with toileting, feeding, and hygiene to promote independence.</li>
<li>Ensure a Safe Learning Environment - Use de-escalation techniques and calming strategies to maintain a supportive, structured environment.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Teachers &amp; Families - Partner with teachers, therapists, BCBAs, and parents to provide consistent and individualized support.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>At least six (6) months of professional experience supporting individuals with disabilities, including direct care or skill-building (e.g., toileting, feeding, hygiene, daily living).
<ul>
<li> Babysitting experience not applicable. </li>
<li>Preferred: Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), Behavior Technicians, or Patient Care Assistants (PCAs).</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills to follow learning plans and work with staff.</li>
<li>Ability to use behavior support strategies calmly and professionally.</li>
<li>Patient, caring, and dependable demeanor.</li>
<li>Team-oriented with good listening skills.</li>
<li>Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel, Google Docs).</li>
